Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Seems overkill to buy the Artifakt just for the ladder filter, but I might just do that. Maybe I can use the vinyl effect somewhere in my band...

Has the USB-C connection issue been revolved? I remember reading about that somewhere. I use Neuro3 on my iPhone and MacBook Air, both USC-C.
Yes! Fixed.

I did some more thinking about the flavors, I/O and Bass specific applications.

There could be some traction in the idea of a standalone effects pedal:

It could be run IN to #1 and then OUT and back into #2 and OUT from there. (channels unlinked)

OR

I think that having it UPFRONT (on my chain) IN on #1 channel (wet) to the UltraWave Bass #1 and either (a) back into Artifakt #2 channel from UltraWave Bass then to #1 channel on C4 OR (b) put Artifakt #2 channel after C4 #1 channel OUT and into Nemesis ADT #1 channel (*FREEZE/HOLD) OR (c) Artifakt #2 channel into the C4 #2 channel effects loop WITH, BUT BEFORE the Nemesis ADT #2 channel OR (d) Artifact #2 channel at the end after Nemesis ADT #1 channel. (channels unlinked)

*Freeze/Hold is only operational by footswitch control AND effects BOTH and ONLY the delay line(s) not the Analog Dry Through and cannot be stored as a scene on the HUB in freeze mode.

Again, another total HUB operation benefit...

Yes. We caught that issue early on. That's not to say that there isn't one sitting on a shelf in a mom and pop store that still has this issue. But all new stock has long resolved this issue.

So here's a question:

Where would having the Artifakt in this signal chain be best as a Bass player...?

UltraWave Bass
C4
Nemesis ADT

I noticed that Artifact has none of the more flexible routing functions, it's basically I/O.

I think I'll keep listening to it, but I think the guitar or other instruments could benefit more substantially than Bass, but it does have some real good Bass game, too. It's a matter of how much game do I really think that I would get?
Before the Nemesis, IMO that way you can process sounds from the UW and C4, use alone and then send it to the final pedal for further processing.

So, you're thinking "B" for location between the C4 and Nemesis ADT Delay.

Q: Do you see a benefit to having Artifakt #1 channel upfront and #2 channel in your suggested location? (My thinking was Ladder Filter first?)

EDIT: I now have ARTIFAKT on order, as well!

That guitar video kinda got the wheels turning and a couple of the specific SA videos on each section, too.

Artifakt does not allow for channel splitting with the outputs. Mainly because it was gonna be tricky to implement with all that's going on in the Artifakt, and because we were running out of code for any possible bug fixes that may need to happen in the future.

I wondered about this...I assumed that "dual mono" was potentially possible as I saw no loop channel or cascading channel featured.

Good to know. Will experiment with placement. Unless you would have a suggestion in the UWB-C4-Nemesis ADT chain?

Thanks 👍🏼

This is Adrian Belew's BEAT pedalboard. It looks like a similar "before Nemesis ADT" as Brad had suggested to me as to where it should be placed in my UWB - C4 - (Artifakt) - Nemesis ADT chain.

Out of curiosity does the Artifakt cover the ground of what the Deco does??? Was a time i was interested in the Deco but went for the Jive instead.
