Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Hey all, I'm relatively new to all of this, but that doesn't keep me from wanting to try fancy stuff.

I've got the hub, dimension reverb, manta and orbital. I want to use them live but don't want to carry a computer or ipad. I found this and ordered one. Do any of you know if I can use this, a softstep and my SA stuff to switch scenes?

You tube demo with zoom:

And if not is there any other way to travel computer-less and still switch scenes?

I've been using the Disaster area device for my scene switching for the last several months.

I am thinking of flipping my MXR Carbon Copy for…something. Reverb? I don't even like time-based effects on bass, and yet here we are. So I mentioned this to the guitar/producer and he says no you need a MIDI-compatible programmable reverb effect like Source Audio makes.

How much did you guys pay him??

On top of that, I'm already having seller's remorse over my OFD.

A question to OFD users:

I'm trying morphing between the two presets using an expression pedal (Dunlop DVP3 connected to the Hub) and experience a volume boost/hump when passing the midpoint in the expression sweep. Is this something I should expect or is it something with my settings I need to change?

Some light OFD action for you worship guys. I have a couple more with some more effects that I'll work on and upload after the holidays. This is my always on go to sound. Just a blended tube drive on low gain.

Hey guys, have any of you had this issue with the PEQ? For certain power supplies on my board, the EQ will work for a moment, then go into a standby mode. I can't figure it out to save my life. The bypass LED blinks and no functions work at all.

Just try the filter and the distortion and see how it goes. Yes, you can have Hot Hand control the other stuff too, but it might or might not help get the sound you want. You will need to experiment a bit. Actually, as I think about it, try the Hot Hand into the BEF rather than the Hot Hand Wah. You will need some fuzz and/or octave in front. There is a good video that shows what I mean by this:

Awesome. This tells me I'll most def be able to do a lot of what I wanted to accomplish. Sucks ill have a chord connected to it but ah well, it'll serve its purpose. I believe I'll be able to accomplish what I wanted with the BEF and HH1. Thanks SA guy!!!

I think I got it figured out! I am using it on the sixth PP2 output, with the dip switch away from "normal". seems to be working fine! Tests to verify...

EDIT: Yep! All good. For those of you who ever encounter this problem, output 6 with the dip AWAY from normal will power the PEQ just fine. Both of my PP2+'s do this just fine, but for some reason it's finicky anywhere else.

Not good advice. Setting output 6 away from normal puts it at the wrong voltage (14.5v) and could damage the pedal. Fine to test on your own but not something you should recommend as a solution.

Amended my post. It's working great, and is the only powering option that won't shut it down. Everything functions properly, and it's crystal clear and quiet. Should I leave it or get it checked out?

This is really puzzling me. It works on my OneSpot. It should work on output 6 with the dip set to normal, as there's plenty of current and it's 9v. However, it will shut down without the dip switch flipped. I hope there's nothing wrong with it.

Does this happen for every single note you play or is it just some notes (i.e. perhaps a resonance?)

Sweet groove! I like the articulation. Low gain drive with blend seems to help to bring that out.

Hey all, so I just ordered the SA HH1. I couldn't resist. They are trying to get rid of them I think and it was only $30. I was wondering if any of you had the HH1 and how it compared to the HH3..... Is the 1 just the fact that it is wired and has a filter built into it? Im sure the HH3 is most likely a little better in that they probably perfected it a little more. Im just curious because my original plan was to get a Manta a while back, which I did, and an HH3, which I didnt and have since sold the MAnata, and Im curious to know if I will be able to do some of the crazy Dub type filtering sweeps with the HH1 alone by itself...... Anyone??

hi @gregmon79 i used hot hand wah filter with wired ring sensor too, before i got HH3, and i play dubstep too, my pedal board setting is

layout.jpg

signal chain : Bass–>Hot Hand wah filter—>Zoom B3—>ampli

control chain ; wired ring motion sensor —>(sensor in) hot hand wah filter (Exp Out) chained to —>control in B3

and then i got HH3 and SB Multiwave bass distortion, then my pedal board new setup is
new-settup1.jpg

signal chain :
Bass—>soundblox multiwave bass distortion—>hot hand wah filter—>ERV microbusto—> amp

control chain : Hot hand wireless ring <====> Hot hand 3 wireles receiver ===> hot hand wah filter (sensor in) <=> (sensor out) chained to ===> soundblox multiwave bass distortion (sensor in)

the sound sample is in my youtube channel

Awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to post all that. I think Im going to hook it up to my SA BEF and go to town. The wah may be cool too, so now between the BEF and Wah fitler, I also have the Tri Mod wah. I was just hoping that I would be able to do some of that funky Dub stuff and from the looks of it I should. So Im happy. As far as the "EXP LINE", all you used was a regular 1/4' patch cable right??
