I'm intending to control hub and zoom pedals with a softstep. Will be using an arduino to relay USB midi via a powered USB hub: it works for the zooms, not sure about the hub, will update when it arrives (probably next month)

I'm super excited about this upcoming track off our new album. Early reviews indicate this could be the favorite single--featuring Source Audio bass effects of course. I did this sound spur-of-the-moment using the pro BEF and MWBD, but I'll be rocking it live with the Manta.

Whoa sick sound right from the start. Love how it sits in the mix so nicely, it's like right in the front but not overbearing.
Also - if I wasn't familiar with what pedals could do, I'd have said there was no bassist in this track and it was done by a really good keyboardist.

Hey all, so I just ordered the SA HH1. I couldn't resist. They are trying to get rid of them I think and it was only $30. I was wondering if any of you had the HH1 and how it compared to the HH3..... Is the 1 just the fact that it is wired and has a filter built into it? Im sure the HH3 is most likely a little better in that they probably perfected it a little more. Im just curious because my original plan was to get a Manta a while back, which I did, and an HH3, which I didnt and have since sold the MAnata, and Im curious to know if I will be able to do some of the crazy Dub type filtering sweeps with the HH1 alone by itself...... Anyone??

It depends on what you mean "by itself." The HH is just an expression pedal in a different format. You need a pedal that it's controlling to do the dub sweeps. Now, I believe the one you bought comes with the SA Wah, so maybe that could do the trick---I assume that's what you mean by the filter is "built in." However, I think (but am not sure) that even though it's wired, you can unplug it from the wah and still plug it in to other SA pedals. I don't know if it's SB2 compatible, but it's possible that if you got a Manta again you could connect the two. Someone else will have to confirm that.
Yeah I meant that. As in can I control the wah in the one I'm getting with the HH1. I have the SA BEF and TRI mod wah too so I'm assuming I'll be able to use the HH1 with those as well. What about with the orbital I wonder? That would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure it will work with the older SB1 stuff, and I'm guessing it will work with the newer SB2 stuff as well. But that's just a guess.
Will I need those special connectors though?? I cant remember what they were called. TRS cables or whatever. Or is that just for MIDI stuff?

One more thing, I'm honestly not trying to be picky or correct you, but to the best of my understanding the filter is not really "built in" any more than it is with the wireless HH3. It's just that you get a pedal with the purchase. FYI.
You will need a 1/8" TRRS cable, but I assume it comes with one. Here is what is meant by TS, TRS, TRRS cables:
Those are what 1/8" ones look like. This is what 1/4" ones look like:
TS = standard "mono" cable, the 1/4" ones are what you connect your pedals with
TRS = stereo cable, the 1/4" ones are often used for expression pedals or footswitches (also a standard headphone cable)
TRRS = specialty, "beyond stereo," the "multi-function port" on Source Audio stuff uses the 1/8" ones of these (and like @FretNoMore said, I guess they use these for headsets where you have earphones and a microphone)
The way Source Audio uses TRRS is kinda sorta like MIDI, but not a standard MIDI cable, which looks more like this:

Yeah, I hang my head in shame as I say it, but I sold off the manta and OFD. I needed other things more. I have my orbital still and the BEF and tri mod wah. I want to do some of that dub stuff that is "advertised" with the manta. Will I be able to do those things with the HH wah?? And will it work with the orbital? And also, will I need to buy more special cables to do so?

Just try the filter and the distortion and see how it goes. Yes, you can have Hot Hand control the other stuff too, but it might or might not help get the sound you want. You will need to experiment a bit. Actually, as I think about it, try the Hot Hand into the BEF rather than the Hot Hand Wah. You will need some fuzz and/or octave in front. There is a good video that shows what I mean by this:
