Is there any reason why my BEF Pro would have a very faint 'wah wah wah wah wah' on the first preset when engaged? There is no sound when it is the EQ setting but as I turn the wheel there is a sound even when the bass isn't being played. It only does it on the first preset (green light) and none of the others. I have tried resaving, etc and it is still there.

That is a problem that we will need to fix for you. I will send you a PM.

Got the MWBD in yesterday. Put an MXR-108 eq pedal in front of it and getting all kinds of synthy sounds out of it. Very cool, versatile distortion pedal. Calling it a distortion pedal is almost misleading b/c it does distortion, octave (very cool sounding octave), and crazy synth-type stuff. Awesome pedal.

+ 1

Both it and also my BEF Pro are so "multi-effect" that I've gotten rid of everything else on my board (mxr bef, bass synth wah, sans amp bddi) and everything else on my wish list (mxr octave deluxe). All that's left is my tuner and my compressor. I do also have an expression pedal plugged into the MWBD, but it remains to be seen exactly how useful that's going to be for me.

I know, it is true, but that is what happens when engineers name things!! Technically, the pedal is distrorting. The fact that the sounds happen to be synthy and octavey...well that is just an artifact of the type of distortion at work. (read our white paper on Multiwave distortion)

We just had a long talk about the Dimension Reverb name at lunch today. Some TBers have noted that calling it "reverb" is perhaps defining it as less than what it does. I suppose that is the right place for us to be. Saying that things are more than they are is trouble.

Quick clip of something I was messing around with using the new Reverb, Distortion and Dual Expression pedal.

So, I turned that riff in the video into a more full formed riff. The other bass line is using the reverb and multiwave. The lead line is using the reverb, multiwave (#11 octave setting) with a little detune from the Polytope.

I got a LOT of grief from everyone else at Source Audio for not wearing shoes in a couple of the demo videos. I'm VERY glad to see I'm not the only one in the world who prefers to play barefoot.

Will, when I gigged a lot I used to play barefoot almost routinely...except for the real dive bars...glass in the feet destroys the use of a wah pedal.

I hate socks. I hate shoes. I wear sandals everywhere except to work.
