Sounds like the application would be right up your ally!

So far so good - will gig it a couple of times this weekend to shake it down. If nothing else the lights are pretty :D

One thing is I with the effect on light was different color than the other leds - too much green and it can be hard to quickly tell if it is on. Minor gripe though.

The new exp pedal looks nice - didn't know they were out yet.

Eeeeek. I can see how what I said could be taken in the wrong way. Sorry, I did not mean that you could do a lot better. You have a good product!!!

I meant you could probably produce what I am thinking about in a much better way.

Actually I was not asking about how to make a hothand, I was asking if a pedal is designed that uses a your hothand technology (i.e. you attach a hothand to it) is this impinging on your copyright.

I hope that is clearer, I dont want to start picking on how the hothand has been made.

No problem at all!!! As all the SASS members know, we like to know what is not perfect so that we can make it better and better and better. All input welcome all the time. We want to try and be better!

It is hard for me to comment about the patent question without knowing what you want to do. If it will hurt Hot Hand sales, then I might not be very excited. If it does not hurt Hot Hand sales, or if it helps Hot Hand sales, then that might be OK or even good. Please send a PM if you want to discuss more.

The updates to the Wireless Hot Hand are going to be good!

The only downside I have ever thought about the Hothand is my fear of kicking the reciever by accident.

I guess then if a boutique pedal builder wants to incorporate the hothand into his/her builds you would be happy to allow it as long as you still have to purchase the hothand unit itself. From my stand point, this is hypothetical and just appeasing my curiosity, since I am not a boutique pedal builder. Just a person that plays with electronics too much for my girlfriends liking. :D

If I get what I am doing working I will post it or send you (rsmith601) a pm.

Speaking of the wireless hothand, are they discontinued?

I've had one on order with a dealer since January (3 months!!!), and I finally got an email from them yesterday telling me that it's been discontinued and a new model is coming out, so they can't fulfill my order. If that is an accurate statement, when is the new model being released? I'm seriously tired of waiting at this point.

EDIT: Ah, I see it's coming out in June. Frick

Ok...I must be missing something. I got the SA Expression pedal and I cannot get it to change any sounds on the BEF Pro. I am running from the expression output 1 into the Exp In on the BEF Pro. Am I missing something?

The expression Input can be set to control a lot of different variables of the pedal. You have to go into the backpage settings for each preset and assign the expression control (XC) for each preset. I would look it up in the instruction manual of the BEF. It's pretty easy to use once you do so.

Settings note: I'm just scratching the surface here, but right now... 4 pole low pass "9" on the BEF Pro plus single band octave "21" on the MWBD Pro is disturbingly groovy for some staccato finger funk. I have the BEF set for a minimum downsweep, 1 o'clock frequency, a 10 o'clock decay and a 9 o'clock "low retain" mix.

Can't wait to plug this into the big rig tonight at rehearsal. My guitar/keys/programmer pal is going to flip on this. He's already told me he's thinking about getting some SA gear. I bet this pushes him right over. This and when I fire up my hot hand ring. :)

Ah, thanks for the input. I read through the manual. Any suggestions for a wah sound? I got the expression pedal to work on a few settings but need some usable tones to use....you know....for my golden retriever audience. ;-)

The new Wireless Hot hand replaces the receiver with a small box and a wire that goes to the pedal. The current solution is not robust and gets in the way!

I think it would be fine to create a pedal with the "sensor in" jack. I see no problem with that.

So sorry about this. We thought we had a 5 year supply and then they were gone in 3 months. We told dealers NOT to take orders, but they did not stop in time.

The new one will likely be more expensive, but it will work with any pedal with expression in. YES, you can use both the sensor out AND the expression out at the same time.

I am so sorry that there is a delay in getting the Wireless Hot Hands back in production. We were caught completely by surprise.

By the way, I think the Pro Guitar Shop has some.

Is there any reason why my BEF Pro would have a very faint 'wah wah wah wah wah' on the first preset when engaged? There is no sound when it is the EQ setting but as I turn the wheel there is a sound even when the bass isn't being played. It only does it on the first preset (green light) and none of the others. I have tried resaving, etc and it is still there.
