Just quick question, dirt before or after the saBEFpro, i am moving some pedal to make space for the hh3, any idea of the size hehe??

innnnnterrressting. yeah, i'd love to see what you guys do with it. i only put in a bit of time, been kinda swamped lately. did you use the downsweep or up? i usually run it in 4 pole.

i mostly use the BEF as a Wub Wub machine with fuzz going into it. and an octaver or ring mod or both after. good times.

cool. yeah, i need to put in more time with it.

since i have two rings now, we've been playing with me using one for a section of an intro, then my drummer uses one on his right hand stick. it's.... pretty ****ing awesome. goes to a way steady wub that lets me play a tad more intricate and add cleaner breaks.

FUN.

yahpers. lol. he does try add in some quck stuff, but mine's setup to kinda follow the slapping thumb direction arc. so he ends up waving his hand around like a penguin trying not to slip on ice.

it's ADORABLE.

Erad,

Let me know if you need any help on replicating any specific tones you hear in my videos...Some of the sounds need specific backpage adjustments that would have taken up the whole screen if we included all of them!

.

One thing I'm having trouble with is getting the settings for the HH just right. Feels like I can't get really defined wobbles.

I'm looking for some really defined wobbles like that. is that only attainable with an overdrive or a synth? or can it be done with just the BEF pro?

Also, my bef didn't come with instructions, so I have no clue what all the EQ settings are or do... :/

Manual/instructions are on their webpage: http://www.sourceaudio.net/products/soundblox_pro/bass_envelope.php

To get that "mechanical"/steady wobble you hear in the beginning of the clip you posted, you'd need to use the LFO and not the HH (check into the instruction manual for a gide to that).

I don't have the BEFPRO, but on the MWBD it is very important to select the right axis, sensitivity and range/gain for the HH to get good wobbles. I also have the ring on my thumb, that helps me a lot.

If you want the "wet" filter sound, then yes some distortion or fuzz in front of the filter helps a lot. The filter removes certain frequencies, but since the natural bass tone is not rich on harmonics, there isn't a lot to remove, unless you stick some distortion in.

Yeah I don't have a problem with LFO.. just the wobbles.

I tried playing with sweep range, and the axis and I still can't seem to get the right combination of it.

Thanks a bunch for the instructions though.

Is it the sound, or the movement you can't get right?

If you don't have a distortion pedal, try setting the EQ to "post" an turn up the mids and highs - this should give the filter some more frequencies to remove (or leave, when it's open) (Or of you play an active with an EQ, boost the highs there)
