Yeah , I bought mine just to give it a try . I started twisting knobs, not worrying about slope or frequences . My ear tells me it needs stays on my 2 pedal mini board . I'm digging it's ease of use . Great sounding pedal .
Can’t wait to pair mine with my EQ2 and a soon to be purchased SA Atlas!

So, where are you placing it? Before or after other dirt?
I”ll bring it to the studio today for a test but I’m liking it so far. I appreciate that it’s easy to use with no hidden parameters. The range of the knobs is very smooth, without drastic changes that would make it sound bad.
The pedal is small, light and cute and the DI works great as well. It feels like SA put a lot of thought on it.
I don’t find the scope switch that useful (yet). The grit adds some character and deepness to the sound, I kinda need to like it with the grit on because I don’t really need a clean preamp right now. We’ll see today.

I'm putting mine in front of a Genzler 4 on the floor set at low gain . I use the grit to boost that pedal into a little more break up . Three stage gain drive settings from two pedals . Will cover most every gig I will do . I haven't tried the DI into FOH . For the time being using my trusted Radial for that .

I put mine after my dirt section, before my modulation section. It could go anywhere though. I could see putting it before my dirt, right after my octaver. Or at the very end. I’ll be experimenting with mine for sure.
How does the focus knob work? If I am not boosting the bass at all, what happens when the focus knob is full counter-clock, and then what happens as you start to turn it clockwise. Are you changing the frequency you are filtering out as you turn it up?
It's a high pass filter. Fully ccw it's off. The more you turn it cw, the more the very low end is cut. It's designed so that you can goose the bass but simultaneously use the Focus to prevent the lowest frequencies from getting boomy. Of course you can use it all on it's own as well.
I was asking a well known TB quantity, about the sweet spot for a HPF with some specific situational specs. His recommendation was setting the HPF @ 40Hz for best results in this case scenario.
I'm wondering where on the Focus dial is 40Hz residing?

Yeah I posted the same question a while back. I would love to see freq plots that illustrate exactly what the focus knob does through its full rotation. I don't think this info is publicly available at this point. That said, an HPF can be used with different goals in mind. 40Hz is a common set point for bass because most bass cabs can't do much of anything useful with freq below this. In the case of the Pultec trick that the Zio is partly inspired by, the HPF would be set around 60Hz while the bass is simultaneously boosted. Turn it up and try out a bunch of settings. If it sounds good, it is good.
In terms of audio mixing there is no real sweet spot. It can be as low as 25hz for example or as high as 120 hz. It depends on the situation, the live mix, the "boomy" room you're in or maybe you want to record a song and have the vocal taking up the low end so set a HPF on the bass high so you can still hear it and it does not interfere.

Yeh them sub frequencies are a bitch! Had similiar experiences in my time
I use a Microthumpinator which has a sharp cutoff at 25hz and it sorts this problem out 
the ZIO can do this alone also though. The FOCUS control has great control.
I was thinking sfx Micro Thumpinator when ZIO Bass was released. As it is a set situation I asked Andy with all the specifications involved where he felt was the place to set a HPF in this situation?
