Double Bass space in winding @ bridge Belcanto

Happy holidays everyone!

I just put a new set of belcantos meds (3/4) on my Shen & I noticed there is some very small spaces in between the windings where the strings go across the bridge. Is this normal?

That looks pretty normal to me Josh. Something's got to give when you ask a string to turn a corner like that, right?. It doesn't usually lead to any degradation, especially with steel cored strings.
