I think it's just that it's too far away, linear / lateral movement isn't going to cause it to (apparently) move, they'd need to turn / spin for that to happen.Question for any interstellar optical experts out there... In the camera shots in darkness of the Dragon approaching the ISS (with stars, galaxies and planets in the background), when the camera moves to center the Dragon image on the screen, the stellar background DOESN'T move. Why??? And no, I'm not proposing any conspiracy theories.

I hope NASA doesn't elbow into this thing to the point were innovation takes a backseat.

I suspect that the star field is artificial (or from an optical beam splitter), so that when the camera looses the craft, the complete blackness of space isn't mistaken for a camera malfunction, and vice versa.
I hope NASA doesn't elbow into this thing to the point were innovation takes a backseat.
Not sure I buy that because the Dragon never completely left the frame.
