I just want to know how you guys' speaker surface area compares to that of your guitard bandmates. You have less speaker area than a guitarist? You have more than a guitarist? You have about the same?

About the same, that's for two guitar players -> Marshall 1960 and Mesa rectumfrier 4x12 against two Mesa Diesel 2x10 and two 1x15 cabs (all EVM loaded, guitarcabs have Celestions)
So 8x12 vs 4x10 and 2x15

Tube-wise It's 8x6L6 against 18x6L6

I'm pulling a Geddy at the moment, so I have a Yamaha Motif and an Alesis ION when I'm out there as well. All together the bass amp and PA for the keys equal the guitar amps. But we don't have a traditional 'lead guitarist', so fighting for volume isn't a problem. It's a studio/garage/fun band, and it's all good :)

First band: One guitarist has a 2*12'', the other one a 1*12'' - combo and a 21*2'' extension cab.

Second band: Two guitarists with 50-watt - halfstacks, each with 4*12''.

Third band: Two guitarists, both with fullstacks, one with a 100 w - head, one with a 120 w - head. Talking about 2 x 2 x 4*12''.

I am going 2 x 4*10'' or 8*10 with a massive ammount of power.

But I found out that 2*12'' and a big amp are fine for smaller venues. Even the single 10'' of my Ibanez Promethean 5110 will work fine for sessions and bar gigs - if the guitarists keep it cool.
