Yeah I'm putting the Bass/treble controls that I got with the MMCS.Looking really good
I like the PU centered between the neck and bridge (the WWLD? position). It could make for a really punchy tone, are you putting a preamp in?
Thanks. It's an inexpensive unit I bought off of e-bay. In theory the knobs are fine tuners, though I think the internals are a bit too simplified to actually work.Nice clamato unit. Are the knobs fine tuners?
It's going to be even prettier once I apply the Varathane clear coat. I tried to get a pic after the naptha wipe but the naptha is flashing off too quickly to get a good pic.Dang, that really pops !
Yeah I plan to finish it with Varathane crystal clear gloss. The shellac has a slight amber tint to it.I may have missed it but what are you going to use to finish it after the shellac? That neck looks incredible. Did the shellac have an amber tint to it?
Man, what a beautiful piece of maple! Straight grain with curl you could take out your board and surf on!Neck sanded to 320 grit and sealed with shellac:

I sanded the shellac and wiped with naptha and OMG! This sucker is gonna glow when it's finished.

That was my prize from last year's build off. Seemed appropriate to incorporate it into this year's.Man, what a beautiful piece of maple! Straight grain with curl you could take out your board and surf on!
