Here we go!
This has been on my mind for a while.
Six years ago I built a pair of Thunderbird-inspired basses (original build thread here - ThunderTwins! ). One a five-string, and one an eight-string. They turned out gorgeous. They also turned out incredibly heavy, and not well balanced. Oops. They’ve been hanging on the wall ever since.
Gorgeous or not, if it’s a wall decoration, then it’s a waste.
Time for a re-birth.
Step one is to liberate the neck.
