Special power chords for your amp improves sound?

Actually, I bet these power cables work fantastically! I'm sure if you didn't have any power cables going to your amp you wouldn't get much sound out of it. So there you have it, they're better than nothing. How's that for always looking on the bright side of things.

That's an actual marketing technique.
Take for example "X brand" of razors. If you see one of their commercials, or even anyone else's claiming that their product is the best, read the fine print. Often you'll find text saying this like "Compared to other "X brand" razors". It's just an example, cuz yaknow, "x brand" isn't a real brand. But they essentially compare their top of the line product to a model that they produce that's obviously inferior, so much sometimes that they don't specify which product...

Just to make sure you don't buy cheap junk, i'll point you to the fact that there is the VOVOX Textura Power series with solid power cables that are around €349,-

While i CAN bring myself to believe that this might make some weird kind of difference in an ideal setting, i'm guessing that i'm already using power cables that are better or as good as the cables running in the walls. So if your house is not wired with VOVOX cables from your main connections in the basement all the way to the power socket your amp is plugged in - reschedule your budget for the next time you're doing some much needed work on your house.

Unless you have the same quality conductors running all the way from the power source, i.e. the generating station, all you are doing is wasting time and money. Even if you did have super-quality wire from the source to your amp, I'll bet you couldn't hear a difference.

Fools buying Snake Oil.

WOW!
Gonna have to share this with fellow instrumentation engineers at work so we can put all these OVERBUDGET cables on power feeds to control systems, analyzers, co-gen comm links to the grid, and UPS feeds!!! No more noise in the signals!

Has anyone put a Dranetz(http://www.dranetz.com/product-services/current-dranetz-products/dranetz-hdpq-xplorer/) on these to see what magical waveforms appear on there "out" end versus the power inlet side?

No, but I actually bought an ESP cable and did a bunch of testing with a scope a few years ago, including comparing the signals at each end of the thing and a bunch of comparisons of an amp's performance with the ESP vs. a regular IEC. As you might expect, the results were uninteresting. I also did listening tests and found no differences.

I returned it via their 90 day money back guarantee. They seemed surprised that I didn't think it was the bees knees.

Those things are ridiculous.

The only fancy aftermarket power cords related accessories I would consider would be ones that actually work, like this Invalid Link Removed

and this (which I already have, and use) Invalid Link Removed

That company should be shut down, because it is a pure scam.

For High-End audio aficionados who demands the very best, the state-of-the-art performance of The Essence has been elevated to Reference-II level! Our patented multi-conductor geometry has been further optimized. The Reference-II is hand-terminated with new Furutech plugs and connectors and termination process improvements. Plug and connector are hermetically sealed for long-term trouble-free performance. The Reference-II is cryogenically treated to -300oF.

That is the biggest load of horse manure I have ever read. Anyone who would spend $2000, on a freaking power cable needs to be sterilized.

Those expensive power cables will be useless unless you have good outlets to plug them into. Here's a review of some audiophile-quality outlets:
Invalid Link Removed

"Audiophiles who have not experimented with "audiophile" AC outlets may be shocked at first to hear the sonic difference between a normal household AC outlet and Oyaide SWO-XXX, especially as the quality of AC outlets seems to keep going down in these new track homes being built. SWO-XXX will redefine what a mere outlet can do for "air" and "smoothness" in a system. There is oodles of air cushioning each sonic note and performer, seemingly lifting them upwards in the soundstage, while traces of brittleness, hardness, and grit are removed, resulting in a more liquid, smooth textures."

I think I could get rich selling audiophile products, but I couldn't live with myself.

I remember when I was in school for photography, one professor told a story of when he was starting out he knew another photographer that charged about three times as much as everyone else in his local community, and he was getting a ton of work, and was in high demand, though he was a rather mediocre photographer. But he was great with the clients, and charged a premium rate that made the snobs he marketed to feel like they where getting a superior product, which they weren't. My professor said after a year of kinda hating the guy's ethic, he sold out himself and raised his rates a bit. His noticed after a few months a marked increase in clientele, and as he put it, a subtle loss in his faith in humanity to survive as an intelligent species.

Snob appeal. Owning the best, makes you the best. How do you know it's the best? Look how expensive it is!

Oh no, hifi voodoo is leaking over into Pro Audio again.

I love a good home sound system, to the point that I have a pair of electrostatic speakers in my living room powered by some nice electronics, but to be honest I have never been able to hear a difference in good quality speaker cables, interconnects, and power cables. Sorry, just can't hear it. Too many people are spending way too much on this stuff when they would probably get better results with a good set up of the gear they already have.

The weakest link - Those high voltage power lines coming from the power plant, aluminum, and ground - earth - the soil beneath your feet.

All my gear comes with the best engineered power supplies that could ever be designed for it. Including any filtering surge protection it may need. And in the box ... the matching power cord.
