Okay, quick question: just had lunch with a friend of mine here in Fargo, he has a early 90's NS-2A he bought in 95, and has played 3-4 weekends a month ever since. Josh has always played a lot.
Sound familiar? "I have tried different basses but nothing sounds or plays like my Spector"
So his bass has the original Haz copy with the original Spector pickups. He has worn out the pots in the preamp, the local repair man says he can't find new pots, he says they are some weird value that he can't find a replacement for.
Anyone know about this? Can he replace the pots? Where could he find them? Or does he have to replace the who preamp? Anyone have a Haz copy for sale?
You can pm me with answers or post here for the good of all
Thanks Chris

Not sure if anyone remembers this from back in the early 90's.
A music video from "Stuttering" John Melendez "he was from the Howard Stern Show"
https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?v=10150441208957129
The theme is a spoof of his band auditioning a bass player.
It was posted directly on Facebook so I am not sure if anyone will be able to see it but it appears to be posted as "public"
Spector make a few appearances in this video.
There is a quick shot of a Red NS-2 at about 1:04
A mini Gene Simmons shows up with a Black NS-2A
at 1:25, 1:40 and 2:04
The real Gene Simmons is playing a Natural NS-2 at 2:16
Nuno Bettencourt has the Black NS-2A at 2:25
and at the end of the video a Mr. Iconic previous Spector artist shows up late for the audition.
(Not sure what bass he had in his gig bag.)
WoB bass said:I've played a rex pro 4 and I loved it but it was the black stain one,the owner kept saying he wished it had the holoflash finish. What do you guys think of the holoflash finishes?
bassgiant15 said:Ns2000/5 would run ya probably $300-500 I bet.
grendle said:Rex pro over the legend classic, NS2000/5 would be a tough decision. Maybe the Rex though because it looks cooler lol. I like the trans stain over the holo. Wish they did one straight black. I think all the REX's are 35" scale too. It dosent matter to much though. Both have a great B.
jarrod cunningham said:The Rex 5 are all 35 scale . 4 strings are 34 . I have one of the rare-er trams red quilt . I had a holoflash , sold it and kept the red one . Actually they did produce some gloss black Rex's . I have seen a 4 string on eBay a few times , don't remember ever seeing a 5 in gloss black , but a gloss white Rex would be awesome !!!!
