A Peavey Mark IV Series head and a 4X10 Dynacoustics cabinet.
Keep in mind I havent played through anything like this in many years. I currently use a Hartke A25 practice amp and play through my PC with Sennheiser headphones.

I think I may have just discovered the the new meaning of Spector growl. It just sounded amazing. :eek::bassist:
I dont remember my Pedulla and ESP ever sounding anything like this :ninja:
..... but we all that already. ;)

Cant wait to try some speaker micing for my next recording. :hyper:

P.S. Anyone know more about Dynacoustics? From what I have read they where a company in NJ that manufactured speaker cabinets GK & Hartke?

I remember something when I got it that it was was poorman's Hartke cabinet

Here is a photo, need to do some cleaning up its been in there for 18+ years.

I had the same Peavey in the late 80s, I was in high school. I saw a cab like that a few months ago, don't know much about it. I did have a hartke cab made just like it.

I took some classes in high school, and mostly worked with Protools (which I eventually have plans on buying, I just need to pay this computer off first :p). It's really tough to learn the software, and how to use it, etc, but once you can, you'll be very happy you learned. It's nice to be able to record yourself practicing at any given time, then you can really notice your mistakes and improve your technique.

I had a budget of about $1200 when I was out computer shopping, so the only Mac's I could really afford to look at were the 21.5" iMac and 13.3" Macbook Pro. As much as the portability of the MBP would've been nice, the screen was just too small for my needs. The iMac came with a wireless keyboard and mouse, so I can still sit in bet with it, it's almost like a laptop with a bigger screen! It has 4GB of ram, and a 500GB HDD, though I think I'll be going out and getting an external 1TB HDD on boxing day.

I have the clip recorded and ready to go. It's just a cover of Self Esteem - The Offspring (I decided to do this one as the bass on the original track is very trebly, and buzzy, and my bass isn't very well set right now. I took a bassless track, so all the playing you will hear is going to be me. Where is a good place to post the sound clip?

Fender makes good bass amplification, it's just not in the lighter-is-better camp. This lead sled (32 pounds) sounds very nice.

There was some talk earlier about Orange gear, and although I haven't much experience with the amps, the cabs sound great. My OBC115 made an Aguilar GS115 I had sound like cardboard. I have an OBC410 as well, which is just thunderous, but I'm thinking of offing it to get a second 15.

I angle the battery just so as I lower it down into the board's clip: The Positive terminal clasps together correctly, the Negative only barely makes contact.

Every time I take the bass out of the house and it/the case slides around the backseat while in transit, the battery disconnects from the board
(while still remaining secure in the clip) & there's never a screwdriver around to open it up & fix it.

Last night, I had to sit out a jam I was invited to because of this.

I used to put a piece of foam behind the battery against the wall to push it forward.
Then I replaced the terminal clips with a wired clip out of an old pedal I had.

Weeeee don't need a reason to double up on the 2x15.... :eyebrow:
We just do it cause we can. :D

I would have two 8x10s paired with two 2x15s - one set on both sides of the stage :hyper::bassist::hyper: :bassist: but, That's just me.....

I was gonna send mine to LimaGuy's SPECTOR Resort...
for some rest and a a nice relaxing setup/tune up.. Like a spa day. :cool:

But, I hear he's a bit "strung" out, er is that booked up. LOL :D

Well I might be getting an 8x10.... so 1 810 and 2 215.... that would be sweet!
