Anyone got the tone pump and the aguilar preamp on another one of there euros? comparisons?.....I have a choice of the tone pump or the aguilar.

In reply to the speaker discussion I like 10s and 12s and im not a fan of using different speaker sizes with one another unless they have separate volumes. Ill post a pic of my new cab after christmas. 
My Euro4 is one of the early ones and came with the Aguilar stock. My Spector 6 has the (now trim pot) Tone Pump. I was going to get another Aguilar (I had put one in another Spector also) for the 6, but started to realize I liked the Tone Pump better. I have since put a trim pot Tone Pump in the Euro4 and am very happy.
The Aguilar was fine, but ultra clean. The Tone Pump has a little more booty and a tiny bit of grit that lends itself to that "Spector growl". It is very close to the Haz Lab in tone that's in my old NS2.
Who else is having a hell of a time trying to get the battery terminals to clip into their NS2A's, given that 1/8" space between the back of the battery & the inner wall of the cavity not being nearly enough to push it with a finger or even a butterknife?
I angle the battery just so as I lower it down into the board's clip: The Positive terminal clasps together correctly, the Negative only barely makes contact.
Everytime I take the bass out of the house and it/the case slides around the backseat while in transit, the battery disconnects from the board
(while still remaining secure in the clip) & there's never a screwdriver around to open it up & fix it.
Last night, I had to sit out a jam I was invited to because of this.

Which Aguilar are they offering a OBP1. OBP2 or OBP3?
The OBP2 in the Forte is cleaner but still has growl. If you already have the Tonepump and Haz in the other basses maybe you would want to try the Aguilar.
You could always sell it if you didnt like it and get a decent amount for it.
What do you use for a 2x12? I haven't seen many options out there, and none locally that I have seen to try out.
@battery fitting on the haz-copy preamp (ns-2a) I have had issues myself, the clip is very tight on the battery and there isn't a lot of room, I have to keep the terminals of the battery facing in towards the middle of the board to get it to fit, I keep a screwdriver and spare battery in my case in case I need em.
They are really different instruments, and, playing the Spector once, may be difficult to talk about.
Sure I have had to lower gain and volume on my Markbass CMD102 (+ 102 Traveler cab) when I plug the Spector.
I love the neck and the lower growly sound of the Corvette, and I have to use it when I need the 5th string (some of our songs needs, and also some covers, Dream Theater for example).
But I think that from now, the Spector will be my main bass.

Just letting you guys know that I'm currently in the process of recording some sound clips. I picked up a new computer recently (iMac) so I now have garageband. I finally got my interface working with Garageband, (its a Steinberg CI1. I originally bought it for use with my PC, but its working great with MAC also). I will be recording direct into the interface, straight into Garageband without any effects.
My bass is an 06 Euro 5LX with the non trimpot TonePump.

Which 15" are you playing thru?Once again I am the opposite of most people on here... I love 15" thunder. I keep debating adding a 2x10 or 2x12 but the 400 watts of 15" are all I have ever needed so far

Cool! Thanks Grendle! I'm leaning toward the 810's I think.Had both type setups, 8x10 hands down. The svt brings it's own tone to the party, but 10's in general do so much for bass. I thought I was a 15 guy till I played an 8x10. If you want the 10" goodness. But not the svt tone I highly recomend the fender pro series 8x10 (yes I'm actually recommending a fender product). Their 8x10 is built like an svt 4x2x10. But has 2small ports per chamber. It has a bit more low end but stays tight. Has a horn also. I almost bought one, it sounded great, but i had to have that ampeg tone

I have a good friend who plays in a respected metal band, he said that for him, the 810's are the best thing he's ever played.
Considering he puts his rig through immense torture, playing shows world-wide and going on tours for months at a time, I take his advice seriously
I am working on getting him to like Spectors!!

Not sure but I think the OBP2 is for treble/bass and the OBP3 would be treble/bass/midrange..so all Spectors should be OBP2....I could be wrong.
Man...Always carry any tool that you'll ever need to fix, open or adjust your bass. :scowl: That'd be very upsetting to arrive to a gig and sit it out!
I put all my tools in old Crown Royal bags that I acquired from a bartender that saved them. They're soft and have an excellent drawstring. They hold a lot! Cool!some action shots from practice tonight
Awesome! Can't wait to hear them! I've been meaning to buy an interface for my MacBook Pro too. Let me know how that works out! When it comes to recording music, I hate to say it but I'm technically challenged in that.
I'm computer savy though. Congrats on the iMac! What size did you buy? I have a 20" with 1T HD, plus a MacBook Pro 13" & 17".

...you'd be better off with the OBP3 with treble, Mids, Bass. That'll give you that awesome SPECTOR GROWL! That's what's being put into my new Forte 5.
