Yesterday I received my GK MB200 head and GK 210MBE cabinet. The head is 2lbs and the the 2X10 cab is 30lbs

That's sounds great Lima. I hope you don't mind I tried out those amp settings on my GK 400RBIV. I usually run my controls all at 12 oclock maybe a little bass boost but I think you are on to something here.

I've never played a ReBop but comments like this make me think a ReBop might be my bass... that would round out the diversity of my bass collection... P/J setup, J/J setup and Humbucker Setup. Booyah...

I played a really nice Rebop in Montreal this fall. Quilted maple front. The neck was great, the tone is very burpy (Jazzish?), no surprise with the location of the bridge pickup. Great sounds!

Try a wider non-slip strap... I'm looking forward to seeing the new SPECTOR Neoprene strap at NAMM. I haven't seen one yet.

You haven't tried one of the new Comfort Straps yet?!?! I thought you had your order in first? They are great!!!

Awesome sound LimaGuy! Not quite the Ampeg but it'll do.
The Forte sounds full and smooth...the Euro is more punch and raw growl. I'm suprised to see that much hi mids and treble turned up on the amp! My Ampeg PF-500, all settings are at 12, except bass and mids at 1:00.

Does he have a sticker on the head stock or something? It's hard to tell but i see something different other than the regular Spector logo but it could be a sticker that is covering it.

I don't understand people who sticker up a gorgeous SPECTOR?!?! It boils my blood!

If they were still fully carved like the ReBop then I'd probably feel more for them. There's something so sexy and appealing about the USA Neck-thru and Europe Series (all of them).

I'm just sort of a purist I suppose. I really love the fully carved rounded, sexy curves of the original NS shape.

Right On JPS!!! That's the exact same feeling I get when I hold a NT to my body vs. a BO! Even though I still love playing my Legend 4...after having a few NT's and especially the Ian Hill, I almost have disdain for my Legend!

I believe a ReBop would be right up your alley! The 5 DLX that I had was a super loud growling tone "MONSTER"!!! Lots of "Punch"!!! Doesn't fit my music genre. Yours? Yes!

I've come really close to trying a ReBop 4 because of the low prices I've been seeing out there...but, I'm a true blue Neckthru player! One thing to watch out for on the naturals is worn marks around the pickups. I sometimes rest my thumb above the neck pup and I wore a mark into my former ReBop 5 DLX. And I didn't have it quite a year. Gigged weekly though.

The ONLY thing that I don't like about my NS5CRFM (except the glossy neck) is the finish. It looks awesome up close, but farther away it's hard to see the wood grain.
But what's cool is sometimes, there's a very rich/dark purple color to it; it looks awesome. And I noticed a small spot of brown on the back. It's where a knot in the wood is, and the black paint never went in it, and it looks pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure that's the SR body style. But the EMGs and everything else is pretty suspicious... lol. But I always thought Ibanez typically used Barts.

I'm just getting around to listening to this... great tone Sam! I'm a little surprised at having to crank the mids also, but who cares! it sounds great!

The more I play my 2 spectors the more I think I'm a bolt on guy, has a nice brighter punch that I like over my neck thru bass.

Wow...their scouped back looks really familiar. How many others are using scouped backs like SPECTOR I wonder? Nice looking bass though. Not SPECTOR nice though!

That's why I've never got one of their new models, the Barts I find to be dark and boring sounding pickups, I'd rather go passive than use those.
Obviously the overall body shape isn't the same but all the features minus the preamp are super similar. I think they started a new line called the SRA last year that had square cornered arch-top bodies and EMG-HZ pickups, so maybe they developed these from there? Only production (non-custom I mean) basses I've seen with contoured backs other than Spector.

These are pretty cheap too, apparently retail is something like 800-900 bucks.

hmm... no offense to Ibanez (I think they make some nice stuff and great entry level basses/guitars) but I wonder how this will work out or compare to a Spector, probably thinner sounding, especially with the EMGs. They use Barts for a reason... they sound good with the wood/construction they use.

I'm sure this won't affect Spector sales.

The preamp is pretty close to EMG BQC preamp actually.

First, the SRT has been around several years. Yes... they've had a fully carved bass on the market for years.

It's one of their high-end expensive basses and I don't think many get sold. It's a nice bass. I've actually seen one, held it, but didn't play it. It's nice but not on the same level.

Stuart and PJ know about it.

And funny. No one cares. Which only gives my argument to the WW faction more merit when they say we're over-protective of curved body designs.

And yes... Ned Steinberger, the genius he is, made the very first solid-body electric bass guitar with such a body design... ever. He INVENTED THE CONCEPT and EVERYTHING with such a body style that came after it is a copy.

But the Ibby doesn't LOOK like the NS-Bass. It has a similar body curve profile/angle... etc... But the shape is clearly a Soundgear Ibby style.

So no one at SPECTOR cares. Good for them really.

Sukop basses also have a curved back and face. Not near as dramatic as the NS-Body... but it's scooped out and was inspired by SPECTOR. I spoke with Steve Sukop at BPL and test drove one. Beautiful basses, all hand-made. Really nice. And again, in my opinion a compliment and nod of respect to Ned's design that he likes the idea of a slight scoop to his basses.

And looking at pricing vs. quality... you get a lot more with the Sukop for the price than you would a WW. And that goes for the Ibby SRT. It's way better a value that a low end- bolt-on Streamer in my opinion.
