SPECTOR® Club - Part 22

Namm is only for the big shots not the average Joe Shmoes like us....We only spend the money...haha...:bassist::bassist:

Nice. It's not really a "big shot" show. BTW, I know you where teasing...

It's an industry only show. Meaning the manufacturers set up and the "visitors" are store owners, distributors, and buyers for like entire school districts and that sort of thing.

The celebrity musicians that come are invited as a draw to get the different buyers and distributors excited about what you do.

The show, which is 4 days long, is all about business. The Spector booth will have two tables and every hour on the hour a different distributor will meet with either Stuart or PJ to discuss how many basses/guitars they're going to buy for the year.

That's why the show is in January. Most manufacturers will leave that show knowing how many guitars or basses or tubas or violins or keyboards, etc... they have to make and when they have to deliver them.

Symphony directors will order dozens of hand crafted violas or violins or whatever they need. Recording studios order mics and you name it.

There are other shows that are for displaying your goods to the public. Which does drive demand of certain models, etc... but this show is all about setting up your business contracts for the year.

Some companies to try to use the show to attract high profile artists to join their ranks. Last year this very low key guy with a beard walked in with a backpack and I couldn't see his badge, but he politely asked if he could see the Coda-4. He played it, fell in love with it and signed on as an artist. Something that SPECTOR doesn't really try to use the show for. He is Abe Millett of Third Eye Blind. So you'll have that sort of thing happen.

But I can tell you by the end of each day Stuart and PJ are exhausted. Distributors from all over the world come to NAMM and it's all about business.

That's why it's not open to the public.

I know you were joking, but there's a lot of people who actually don't know what the NAMM Show is and why it's not open to the public. So I figured I'd take to opportunity to explain.

WoooooHoooooo!!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::D
I setup the TriPod with camcorder in the front picture window...and I hear a knock at the back door...the UPS guy backdoored me! Lol :p
He parked the truck on the main road 125 yds behind our house! And by the time I get to the backdoor he's walking back to the truck. Lol
I did get a video from bringing the box in the door to picking up my Forte 4. So it'll be a part of "My SPECTOR story".

Is it that much better than the Euro's? I can tell you that from the first time that I picked the Forte 4 from it's case, I was blown away with the way it feels!!! It is perfectly balanced! It takes no effort picking it up and to hold it! Feels light as a feather because of the perfect balance! I literally just sat it on my lap, ran my hands all over and examined it for over an hour. Unbelievable craftsmanship!!! I can feel with my hand the smoothness of the sanding of the master craftsman, where and how he sanded and shaped the body! Incredible! I love how the neckthru joins the wings that there's no hump like my Euros had. And how the fretboard smoothly blends into the neckthru seamlessly. Well enough talk...time to play!!! :bassist: Checkout the date on headstock...1 month ago today.

AWESOME! Good for you! Glad you're no longer waiting!

And I like to tell people (lately) that the Euro Basses are a 9 out of 10. The USA Basses are a 12 out of 10. That's really the best way I've found to explain it. Not that the Euros are bad by any stretch of the imagination. But the USAs will make you reset what you think perfection is.

New Spector Day is always a great day!

True, thats why I take my 9 out of 10 to play shows and leave my 12 out of 10 in the house....dont want to get the 12 out of 10 in danger......:bassist:

If you can get a US for $3k or under good but over might as well get a Euro and a used car.

That is pretty much the most accurate statement I have heard right there :) If money were no object for me though, I would be all over the NS-2, NS-4, and NS-5's.

Called no answer....he told me last friday it will be here Wednesday....:bassist:

I believe he is closed on Mondays so he will probably ship tomorrow which means you will get it Wednesday.
