im guessing its for the times the people forget to lock their bridges, i know ive done it, ONCE, and they all fell off (strings were off also), hopefully never again.

Got it yesterday. Couldn't believe how small the body was! I should have some better pictures soon.

I've always liked Spector but never got around to buying one. Been happy for the last 17 years with my Modulus Q5. But now I've got a little extra money and got the Fender Jazz V and a Spector so I can have the killer arsenal of axes to choose from when I play.

If it doesn't have the intonation screws, I would suggest living with it for a little while to see if not having them bothers you. It's really no problem at all to move the saddles by hand, and it would save you the added cost of buying the bridge. If you then decide you need the intonation screws, they're readily available from Spector's online store. Congrats on the new bass!

The old bridges are good too. I don't think you'll bother with changing it once you check it out and see how it works. It's a good design, I'm not sure why they changed it.

Congrats on the new bass. My arsenal is similar. Modulus 5, P bass, Spector.

I'm thinking I'll stick with what came with it since it doesn't seem to bother anyone. Hell I'll set it up with my DRs and then just leave it. I was just curious. It may come with the new one though since I got it from Guitar Trader of San Diego/MusicPower.com on Ebay and from the looks of their business they sell a lot of these.

Anyway... should have it on Tuesday. Will post pics asap. I have a sneaking suspicion that this will become my main axe. I do a secondary gig with a guy who tunes down half a step and since my Modulus deals with that better than the Fender I may just leave the Mod tuned that way and use the Spector and Fender for my main gig which is a straight ahead R&R club band.

I wish I we're getting one. Im gonna have to stick with a 4 or order a wider spaced 5er. I've really been digging wider spacing lately. A coda 5 or wide spaced bolt on 5 would be awesome.

I am no authority on amps and sound by any means, but after trying 4 amps out, there's something about the Ampegs, just as there is that 'something' about the Spectors :)

It's weird. All my favorites artists use ampeg and Spectors yet I was having a hard time dialing in a good sound when I tried them. I wanna try them again though and see what I can come up with. Im gonna spend like an hour with the 4 and 8x10 setup to really see what i can dial in. Really wanna try trace Elliot stuff too if I can find any near where I live...

You should spend the time indeed!
I have a friend who has played (and abused) Ampegs for 20 years in a couple of dominant metal bands and he helped me out giving me some good pointers. He uses Fenders though.....I'm trying to convert him! :)
I could ask him again what he sets his 4pro at and get back to you. I think his sound might fit yours as he uses a lot of overdrive as well:D
He set mine up when I got it, but I changed it since and I forgot to write down / take a photo of what it was set as. It was BEEFY!!!!:bassist:

7th, have you had much experience with the 2 Pro? I've always gased for that amp. The 4 won't leave anyone lacking for power, that's for sure. And it is one of the most versatile big watt amps out there. Bassgiant, it's also one of the trickiest to hook up right. I'm guessing that's what happened at GC possibly. If you do get one, be sure to get familiar with the ins and outs of the back panel!

Haven't used the 2 pro much myself with, but my buddy also runs 2x 2pro's :D I played through it a few times (with his Fenders though) and it sounded great!!!!
Mike Star's SVT 2 Pro is selling at Bass NW...:eek:
