I could just keep going on, LOL. I even had their Great White North 8-track back in the day with Geddy Lee on it

Well, let me introduce you to my SPECTOR "Thunder rig"!

My wife is 5'2", and she's standing flat footed. Oh I almost forgot, our furry black/white family member Miss Olivia!

BTW...After photo OP I seperated the cabs to only the 810. It was enough to drive you crazy out of your MIND!!!

Thats a really nice rig Mike. I would love to hear it with your forte. Big congrats again.

So in trying to get a track on the DVD for myself I played with the Black Pearl and my NS-4, just trying to create something with some interesting tone.

In "Eyes that Burn" the main guitar is the Black Pearl with the more dreamy-bowed sounding background guitar being my NS-4.

I ran the NS-4 through a reverse attack pedal and then added a ton of reverb and echo/sustain.

It took some getting used to the delay. But once I got it down it sounded more and more like a bowed instrument even though I was playing with a pick.

Anyway. I figured I'd share something with the group.

The second track is the same song with the main bass track turned off. So you only hear the NS-4.

Really great tracks. Very relaxing vibe coming from each of them. Great creative tonal design. P.S.That really does sound like a bowed Cello.

I think I have regained my lost senses and decided to keep my beloved NS4CRFM. I put it up for sale to facilitate the purchase of a TBLE Forte. I got a lot of interest but nothing firm. I am now very greatful for that. I almost made a trade that I am sure I would have regrets about later. As time passed, I began to think that it would be silly to sell a bass that is just right for me. I had to give up the dream of having a US made NS, but I think I'm ok with that. Down the road, if I have some disposable income, I'll purchase a HAZ.

Thanks, I know you guys are absolutely right. I would regret selling or trading this bass. This bass photographs differently depending on the lighting. It's actually a very pale green. Under flourecent lights it looks like pea soup. In person, it looks like a very pale, soft shade of green. Here is a "pea soup" shot. I think a lot of the blue Spectors are like this in that they appear to change color according to the lighting.

Well you've got a bit of a color cast in this pic. I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of a quicky color balance. It's better but obviously it's still not white. What color is the room you shot this pic in? The fretboard looks totally different to.

Yup, I don't have pics to compare with at the moment, but my Euro 5LX can appear very dark, but under certain lights it has a nice lighter blue, I really love that about this bass.

On another note, I was getting lots of overdrive from my non trim pot preamp, and was thinking about just buying an upgraded version from Spector, but today I tried to lower the pickups (they were very high compared to my Ibanez) and that improved the sound quality a lot. It seems to have the same effect that the trim pot would have on the preamp as I'm able to run my bass boost nob at about 30 - 40 % now, where as before it would distort my speakers horribly.

Also, I found another used Euro 5 on my local Kijiji. The price is a little bit high, but if I can get the price down low enough I might bite on it. It's just like mine (same colour I believe, at least it looks like it in the pictures posted) but without the inlays. My bass is an 06 WITH inlays, when did they stop making them without inlays? What's your guys opinions on having two identical basses?

that bass isnt white , its a shade of green . the owner said what color , but i dont remember exactly what was said . it was several threads ago .

With your correction, this is exactly what the bass looks like in person. Jarrod and Playa are right. It is 1963 VW "jade".

I was having similar issues with my non trim version of the Tonepump. I eventually found a trim version in the classifieds. Big inprovement. I can now get the growl without distortion. The non trim Tonepump is just too hot for most inputs even padded ones.

I love this bass.... Glad you are keeping it, you seem to have put in the work and that really makes this bass special

good to hear about the pickup height. Wwll they wouldn't be identical because one has inlays and one doesn't. I don't see anything wrong with that. I in fact want to get a Euro P/J that has the same natural finish as my NS-2JA-R. and my 2 main guitars are both black Les Pauls. So I think if you enjoy both get it (for the right price)
