My first Spector 5 stringer has arrived:

Despite being terribly packed and in need of a good cleaning, this bass is in fantastic shape. I'll take better pictures once I can get outside.

I have seen some basses with big chips, dont even want to know what they hit with that .:eek:

The Spector matte finish seems very thick and would probably be very resistant to dents. Luckily, I have no first hand experience on this yet.

Had to borrow the PO's pics....the way that it was explained, this was an NS2a that Kramer put together at the end...the inlays are real....the Haz Lab is real...it absolutely kills....now to find another....

The extra switch above the pots is the give away for a NS-2B. Nice but too pricey!

I talked to Grasshopper about the blems. He said they weren't damaged, but they were some of the first basses Spector tried the black matte finish. Apparently, that is a very difficult color to work with and the first few didn't turn out so well.

The finish on my NS-4H2-JJ's finish is so thick it's three dimensional.

With all of the same specs, or better. Plus, I'm used to Windows. The interface on a mac seems so foreign to me and I can't ever find anything. I could get used to one with time, but why bother?

Or you be cool like me and build a hackintosh. I stare at Cubase 6 on a hackintosh everyday. Loading OSX on a pc was easier and quicker that win 7.

See! There's always a GREAT solution to every situation! :D I know some people that do that very same thing. The Apple OS is a much superior and stable software. IMHO Atleast I NEVER had to reformat Apple OS. :smug:

I am not a fan of Matte finishes, because of the sheen factor after playing in certain spots for a prolonged period along with the fragility issue. I have 2 Matte finished basses, one being my Forte X, and both have been lightly bumped and dented. I am a very energetic player, and my gloss finished '87 has taken a beating...and very little of the wear is from me. I have hit monitors, guitars, the floor, etc. with it, and it should be much worse. I love my Forte, but I'll take a gloss finish over it any day.
