Mine came with standard EADG so now I want to put BEAD nut to fit the thicker strings and I hope it's the only thing I have to do to tune it lower. Guys, anybody done that before?
Here are my recommendations for Strings on your Euro.
This is based on my experience: (I can only use Steel strings)
DR Hi Beams, very bright, great slap response, nice growl
This is what I am currently using.
Dunlop Steels, not too bright, decent slap response, nice growl, gives you a bit more "dirty sound"
D'addarrio Pro Steels
very bright, good slap response, nice growl, a bit rough on your hands (PhatBasstard) if I remember correctly uses this for years on his Euros.
Sadowsky Steels Blue Labels, very bright, good slap response, clear crisp tone, nice growl.
Black Diamond Steels (I loved these but couldnt use them since they had some nickel in their mixture) I have a nickel allergy.
Not as bright as most steel strings, great midrange, great growl. very different sounding then most strings I have tried.
Blue Steels
Its been a while since I have used these, I may be trying them again soon
(Bassgiant15) uses these for years.

Well I went to the "string website thing" this morning and was once again blown away by all the choices.
Ive always used steels on my jazzers (currently with Sadowsky Blues), but never put anything on my Euro yet. Decisions Decisions.

I suggested that to him but gloves make him break out also. I even offered to bring latex and powder free gloves but they all seem to bother him unfortunately.

even silk gloves? I know some violinists use silk gloves as to not get the oils on the instrument... o well, Lima makes those SS strings sound great!
For years and years I used Rotosound Swing bass 66's on my NS-2A. I Kind of forgot about them and Mel (Evil Dead) was talking about Rotosounds a couple of threads back so I put a set on my NS-4 and they are killer, love those strings, they sound awesome!
Great track, playing is great and for a first time recording thats really good.
What Recording Software and Interface are you using to record?

@Lima I have a PreSonus AudioboxUSB and I use the supplied Studio One recording software. The drums and keyboards are VST instruments from the software. I would buy something more robust (ProTools or Cubase 5), but I don't think my laptop can supply the required processing power.
I'd really like a Mac, but the one I want is like $2500 bucks!!!! If I pay that much for equipment...you best believe I'm adding $300 and buying a Euro 6XL-TW!!!

Really? Honestly, I've never used a Mac for an extended period of time, but the time I've had with them I like a lot. My laptop is a Dell Studio 17, 4gb Ram, 2.6ghz Intel Dual Core. I know that for $2500 I can have much more computer than a Mac, but I want one eventually.
I use Dean Markley Blue Steels. I like how they impart a piano-like tonality to the strings, and they hold their zing pretty well. I need to try some DR's, and maybe Rotos, but from what I've tried so far (EB, D'Addairio, GHS Boomers, Spector, Dunlop, Fender, and whatever else I may be forgetting), those strings had the best combination of stabillity, tone, and life.
That setup will run DAW software just fine, as long as you don't pile on the VST instruments, effects, and extra bells and whistles. I hope to get a recording setup next year.
I don't want to veer the thread too far off topic, but all I can say is that Macs are severely over-priced. I can build my own PC for a small fraction of the cost of a Mac. With all of the same specs, or better. Plus, I'm used to Windows. The interface on a mac seems so foreign to me and I can't ever find anything. I could get used to one with time, but why bother?
