Wow! I like that line! I just text my band and told them to let me know if they want to do it!

No clue on the sound except what others have posted but it sounds clean enough for me to do on a Spector growl for now....:bassist:

A nice find! That's a J/M config I believe and usually are Bartiloni's. I've not listened to one before...I've thought about buying a couple different times though.

I think I know the collector this might have come from. There's not a lot of these running around.

The question I'd have for the auction company is:

When you say replica, is this a real Spector SB-1 that's been modified to look like Gene's custom SB-1 or is this a Fernandes Copy that was made as a custom order. I'm leaning towards the Fernandes model because it's missing the Double-S on the headstock.

It's worth what it means to you. And if you're the die-hard Kiss fan, the price isn't bad either way.

Some of the modern Woodstock models which sell for $6K-$8K brand new have brought $5K used.

It just depends. And I'd be willing to pay a nice sum for an authentic, all original 1983 Brooklyn with the Leo Quan, neck inlays and white (aka Sting Bass).

I agree! The only Spector I would pay a ridiculous amount for is an original Brooklyn Shop ala Sting!

The only Spector I would ever be seriously interested in IF I had the money. The maple neck/inlay combo is unbelievable...

I'm certain u can ask stuart or pj , but I remember reading there were two sb1 gene basses made . One with his face on the headstock , one without . The auction says the original was added later ... Also they say theirs is a inlay sticker . You offered up some knowledge I wast aware of , that Fernandez would custom build a replica ...
