well my bass cut out on me tonight at practice.... I was getting no output from it (tried my amp and a tuner, different cables) got it working by smacking the back... I think I might have a bad jack since it was both pups that didn't work..... gonna pick up a new one tomorrow.... hopefully that is the only issue.. This was on my ns2a so it is more than likely my own fault since I did the soldering

I am very impressed with the overall quality of the the bass. The neck is really smooth and the fret work looks great. For the price range, this is a great bass,
but do we expect anything else from Spector.
The only weak spot are the passive SSD PUPs since I am spoiled from active EMGs.

Really cool Lima! Can't wait to hear some sound clips. I think a legend 6 may end up being my next bass once I have the spare change saved up for it. The one I got to play sounded really good (but it had also been modded with Bart pickups and pre) so it will be interesting to hear how a stock one sounds. I can't imagine it being that different from my legend 5er.
Congrats to LimaGuy!!! Somehow I missed your Legend 6 buy?! Awesome! I've been toying with the thought of a Legend 5/6. The quality of my legend 4 is high. I'd be interest how it'd sound with other pups.

This will be sacrilegious to most of you guys and I'm not sure why but I don't really dig inlays much these days. I actually like the look of a plain fingerboard. Really tempted to start saving for a Forte 5:

I think the "clean" fretboard look is outstanding, honestly. It goes great w/ the matte finish they're using on the Fortes. The pau ferro looks great on its own.
I didn't like the no crown look at first, but now I think I like the clean look just as much if not more! ...just a few more days til I receive my new Forte...

Here is a photo that was taken by JPS of my Forte that shows how beautiful the wood grain is on the Pau Ferro.
In person its even more amazing.

I meant to ask you- are either the Hi Beams or LoRiders tapered on the B or E strings at the bridge/ball end?
I probably am going to get a set of each and see how they do.
Hi Beams or LoRiders B and E strings are not tapered.
The E will have no problem fitting in.
The B you may need to use something to squeeze it into the bridge, but it can be done.

Nope, neither are. DR Long Necks are tapered, and pretty much the same design as Lo Riders since they are SS on a hex core so if you want tapered strings, I'd give them a shot.
Just in case it's the concern, the only bass I've had an actual issue with non-tapered strings was my Thumb. The low B and E wouldn't fit in the bridge. But I don't have a Spector 5er, so I guess I can't really say anything on the matter.

The only tapered DR's are Long Necks. AFAIK. That's why I went with the Sadowsky Steels in the black label
bassgod, have you used Long Necks with success on any bass? I tried them once and they had a very strange overtone issue. I assume because the taper was so long it went over the PUPs.
I have also read a few complaints on TB about that.

CONGRATS MY FRIEND!!!! Welcome to the Legend family! I'm telling you.....I got some 45TW's if you want 'em lol. The Legend is one of the best all around budget sixer's available. Ibanez's are great values too, but the lack tonally IMO...
One day I'll have a Euro 6 and a USA 6 to add to my family photos....
No, I haven't. That's interesting. I've been a pretty die hard Lo Rider/Hi Beam guy for a long time.
