Gotta repost this; called Glaser Instruments at Guy N Cognito's suggestion. They don't do refinishes. Still looking for someone who can do a Spector finish:

I would suggest contacting Brian at the Low End. His get finished locally I believe.

Also talk to Tim at the Guitar Mill in Murfreesboro, TN. They built a bass for my friend and it turned out great! Sky Blue nitro finish and all!! Ask for Tim, he was the guy who built her bass...and is also the guitar player in her band! He is a REALLY great guy!

I believe the official color they are calling it is Green Matte Stain but on my invoice (yes, I bought it) they call it Black and Teal. JPS mentioned that the color turned out to be a bit of a mistake but boy, that sure was some mistake.

I believe the official color they are calling it is Green Matte Stain but on my invoice (yes, I bought it) they call it Black and Teal. JPS mentioned that the color turned out to be a bit of a mistake but boy, that sure was some mistake.

Yep. Jimmy Eppard who does all the stain finishes at the NY Workshop was using a "new formula" for Teal and it ended up way green. A happy accident indeed.

I bet so too!!! I love the sound of my EBMM, but it weighs a ton!!!

I bet this one has a similar tone to the MM but has all the goodness that is SPECTOR!

Ha what's funny is, Brownie actually started out as a blackie... Was an early run trans-black job and well you see the end result.
Some finishes on these trans/stain attempts can end up looking better than their original intent, IMO.

A custom build for Colin Edwin... this bass is pretty freakin' amazing. I loved the deep rich tone. The dual MMs with the ebony fretless neck is pretty killer.

This guy is in Houston (Conroe) and does EXCELLENT work. Its a haul... or shipping... but well worth it... ROAD TRIP!

Him being such a rad guy outside the shop too is why i don't mind paying for setups!

Patrick, you are killing me!! I just ordered a Forte! I can't afford to want another already!! ...those are some great shots too, btw!

That's really good to hear; I've been looking for a guy to do quality set-ups on my basses.
I'll have to make the trip to Conroe to do business with him.
Does he do tube amp 'look-overs', too?

P.S. Does anyone know if it's possible to re-stain an oil stained instrument? Say, for example, a Forte started turning grey due to lack of waxing/lots of wear. Would it be possible to restore that bass' finish to its original quality?
