I am not familiar with those guys but I really love that song. It starts out kind of mellow and then starts to kick in. He is the one that just ordered that sweet fretless from NAMM right?

My vocalist is a big fan of theirs, when I was playing with him doing his solo stuff we covered "Shallow".

Ok, I just listened to the sample of the first track from that album called Blackest Eyes and immediately clicked purchase.
Reading about this guy Colin Edwin, he seemed to be a die hard Wal fretless player but that seems to be have changed with his new USA bolt-on with the MM pickups.

They've had several different eras in regards to sound.
Pre Gavin Harrison (their current drummer who is an absolute monster) my favorite album is The Sky Moves Sideways. They were more 'space rock' in a way back then. Their first album with him (In Absentia) is amazing as well. here they start to go more progressive. Many consider Fear of A Blank Planet to be one of their greatest records ever (I have to agree). Now they start getting a bit heavier. And their most recent release (The Incident) is amazing as well. All that should keep you busy for a while! Colin Edwin is a really great, groovy player. Him and Gavin keep it tight as heck, even when they go into weird time signatures.

And in the end I decided to decline the offer. I just don't care to work with jerky people anymore. I'm totally spoiled now with how nice everyone at Spector, EMG, Aguilar, Dunlop and a half dozen other companies are. I've been asking myself lately why I even bother with Hollywood anymore. I'm so much happier doing work in the music industry.
Anyway... I meant to say, "have never seen one in person... and have never seen an NS-6XL in person either."
Lane Baldwin has the only NS-6XL with neck LEDs and the Peizo bridge pup that I know of and he and I are supposed to get together next month to do an NS-6XL Tone Video. With the Peizo bridge it'll be MONSTER! So that'll be a treat.
I have seen the Euro6LX and I had a Legend-6 Classic here in my office between BPL 2010 and NAMM 2011... about 3 months. Didn't really attempt to play it any. That big neck scared me. LOL.
And lastly... I spoke with Stuart and he agreed to build my ARC6 with a Floyd Rose bridge instead of the Bigsby. After playing the one from NAMM, as beautiful as it is... the Bigsby didn't fit my playing style. It's not as responsive as the FR.
Even though the Floyd Rose is an option for the ARC6... no one has ever ordered one. So that'll be fun. But it's also pushing the delivery day way... way back. LOL. It's all good.
I admitted to PJ that I think subconsciously I'm trying to build a Kramer NS-6 electric guitar with my ARC6. LOL. It's looking more and more like one every day.
Anyway... today has been a grinder and I'm just exhausted. Really people... no joke... Hollywood people really suck. At least some of them (not all) do suck really, really hard. What a waste of two days.
Off to bed. See you all tomorrow, hopefully with a much brighter outlook.

Outside of dealing with the locking screw, these bridges are not any harder to intonate. There are a handful of members that don't like them, but most have no issues.
1)Unlock the screw just enough to allow the saddles to move.
2) Intonate the individual saddles by sliding them to the appropriate place. Loosening the string may help.
3) Relock the screw.
All this Spector talk and pictures has really peaked my interest (and GAS). I'm really liking the looks of the Rex 5 string but haven't been able to find any in the area to try.
Any words to the wise (besides play before you buy, since that might not be an option) on the Rex 5er?
Does it balance better than a Tbird 5 or a Thumb 5 (I've had both of those and didn't find them to be overly obnoxious on the neck dive).
Is there a bass that's tonally in the same ballpark (similar pickups and controls) that I should try to see if I like the Rex tone before I buy?
Any help is appreciated.

I think you would be happy with a REX5. It plays fast, has a thin neck, the B string doesn't flop around like a wet noodle. The tone is good, although some don't like the preamp in that bass.... its not as growly as the TonePump, but overall its a great sounding/playing bass

The one I'm looking at is the neckthru 5 string Rex so I think it's the Pro Rex Brown model. I typically lean to darker sounding smooth deep bass tones vs overly bright and zingy and don't really do any slapping, mostly finger and a little pic every now and then. Is the REX5 similar sounding to anything else you can think of? I think I did see a Spector Legend classic 5 in one of the local Guitar Centers or Sam Ash stores, would it be similar in sound to that (darker or brighter or the same)?
Well...Our local Radio Shack didn't have the 9V battery clips with the wires...so instead of driving 60 miles to get clips that I'd have to solder wires to...I ordered from "Antique Electronics Supply" for 60 cents for package of 3! So I ordered 3 packages to make it worth it. I'll mod my Forte 5 when it's delivered too.
