Clearer tone, much increased sustain, more raw tone! It made my Legend 4 sound like a different bass. Legend on steroids!!!What are the reasons for upgrading the nut from synthetic to brass?
I do the same thing!Oh, I am my own worst criticI find every little thing about my playing and just rip it apart, haha.

This is very true. The one thing I do find myself doing though is thinking too much while playing and that does get me to make mistakes so I need to work on that.
Ok, so I finally made a clip I didn't totally hate using my NS-5XLPlease be gentle
The first part of the clip is clean with the bass boosted and treble is flat.
The second part I have the RBI engaged using the Ampeg SVT settings.
The third part, I have the RBI engaged using the Ampeg SVT settings and the bass and treble boosted all the way.
The fourth part is clean with the bass and treble boosted all the way.
The riff is from the song "25 Years" by Pantera off the Far Beyond Driven CD.

That's actually quite fitting.Spector is like the PRS of basses.

Although I prefer to think of PRS as the "Spector" of guitars.
It's a funny analogy as PRS has never been able to be the PRS of the bass world themselves,
while Spector has the opposite problem where their guitars have just never caught on like their basses.
I just scored this plum Euro off CL for less than 1/3 of what I paid for my white Euro LX!
There are a few minor scratches & dings, but overall it's in great shape. The older style satin gold bridge was in pretty bad shape, so I ordered a new polished bridge from Spector. Plum is hard to photograph, but you can see the deep purple color in the photos where its sitting next to my white Spector. A wonderful playing, killer sounding bass at a great price!

I've got some immensely painful GAS for a gloss black NS-2....OH THE PAIN!!!!!!!!

Yeah the only sealed cabs I've had prior to this are the Bergantino NV stuff. I had the 425 and the 610. They were both awesome. Didn't go "as low" as my PH cabs but still equally as great which is why I'm pumped for the sealed Mesa designs.
I'd love to try out one of those PR-810H cabs that Johnny April uses (along with his custom 2x18's) and Rex used to have in his backline. I think they get in at around 212lbs tho... lol.

My Brooklyn NS-2 was just the classic piano black. Was a great piece.

Yeah, it's due within a month or so. It's soooo hard not to email PJ every day with 'is it done yet????'
I'd love to ship it to JP for pics but that would mean waiting even longer and risking shipping it all over the country.
I'll take some and post them...

On another note. Tomorrow night will be my first gig with the Forte 4. I've been a tad nervous to take it to some of the bars we play. The NS 2A has been getting the call but tomorrow's show is a private party and I'll have somewhat more "control" over the stage.
Forte > Mesa M9> Dually 215. Religious experience.

My SAS is kicking in hard! soon baby!! soon!!! a few more weeks.....

Weird they tell me like 5-6 months...![]()
