Hm, same bridge wear on my Euro, must be a common spot to lose the finish!

Get that thing out in the sun! Natural sunlight with no flash = best possible color representation in a photo in my experience.

I don't know how she was treated before I bought it, but it has a hard case now, stays out of the sunlight, and I ordered a new replacement bridge from Spector in the high polished gold finish. I don't normally purchase used instruments, but this one was priced too low to pass up. I prefer the TonePump preamp in my white Euro, but the one in this plum sounds pretty good. It also weighs almost a pound more than my newer white Euro, most likely due to the solid maple wings of the older style body construction.

Cobalt update:

The Cobalts lasted pretty good, about the same as high beams (45 hrs +/- of play time). I'll probably be buying them again for studio work. Their really cool strings and I think a LOT of people will really like them. I got about 45 hrs play time on them with no cleaning. I'm sure a quick alcohol wipe will bring them back pretty decent as well. Over all thumbs up!

I just picked up a set of rotosound 66's to give a try again just for the heck of it. Haven't played these in years, but the were cheap ($17) and they growl nicely from what I remember.

Does Spector made an additional 35" scale 4 string besides the Euro one that's currently available? I've been playing with a band and we're trying out drop B and I've been using this Ibanez BTB Prestige I have with is 19mm spacing, and even though I have big hands, it's still quite a stretch to use that low B so much.

So I'm looking at getting a 4 string that I can tune BF#BE but didn't know if the typical 34" scale would work well enough for that? I have a great tech who can set it up but just wanted to check beforehand. I thought about getting a 5'er but really in that tuning most all the notes are on the "low B" (or E I should say) anyway, so no need to make extra work for myself. I thought about tuning F#BF#BE but I'd probably need like a .185 or something low B to make that work!
We normally play in drop C and I tune my 5'er ACGCF so I can really get down and drop those "bombs" on the low B tuned down a step.
