its called a spector legend 4 i believe. those models were made from 2004-2006. bubinga top on basswood body. maple neck. 34" scale. emg hz passive with emg 3 band active eq. stacked pots are treble bass, then you have a blend, volume, and mid control. very nice bass for the money. id snag that one up asap if i were you :) i strung mine with the new eb cobalts and man is it wonderful. dont get all the classic spector growl, but i can make it growl good ;) so yeah. good bass! :bassist:

And what a "tone pump" is all about?

I am new to the brand man....so I know a whole lot of not much.
But I do know that the one I picked up is one helluva bass!
Loving the thing.
REbop is a Euro bolt on with passive pups and active tonepump preamp.

Yea I wanna go for sure.
I mean it is only an hour.
Would be awesome to check it out if they would allow it?

Not sure. I talked with Stuart a lot about 10 years ago looking for info as one of the few Spector guys on another forum. Everyone is extremely nice and almost bewildered by our extreme love for these basses. I asked about a visit , and he said something like , "well if you want to come see an old dusty wood working shop, some wood and parts in boxes I guess so. Nothing special really going on here lol. " their all really cool down to earth people who actually care about each piece that goes out the door with their name on it. US and foreign. Sadly I didn't get to go. I still regret not being able to make the trip.

I spoke to PJ the other day. Maybe I will ask if he is cool with me stopping in on weekday in the near future?

So true... I really am on the lookout for one.

Just need to sell my REX 4 Pro... and maybe my white NS-2A to make some room.

Don't worry... I've got two amazing USA Spectors and an incoming Euro 4LX... so I'm way beyond LUCKY & SPOILED:bassist:

Man if it wasn't holoflash I might take you up on that...errr

I spend way too much time scanning the market for used Spectors. A couple of those are OK deals, and a couple are no deal at all.

If you can restrain your S.A.S. a bit I know you can do much better.

If you are absolutely committed to buying tomorrow... I also think #1 is the most favorable deal of your four choices.

I've seen crazy deals... Euro 4LX $600 shipped, REX 4 Pro $355 shipped. Legend Bubinga bolt-on PJ $149.99, Legend Custom Bubinga set-neck $289.99. I picked up an NS-2A cherry burst for $299.99 and an NS2000 with EMG 35CS pickups and a case for $329.99.

In the past week Guitar Center Used had both a Legend 4 and a Legend 5 for $199.99 and shipping is only $12.38 in the U.S.

Save a little bit more and you can pickup an NS-2A right here on TB. "husky123" offered his NS-2A to Spector Club members for $400 shipped.

You just have to look every day... and be ready to pounce instantly.

no problem buddy. as you can see on the forum, we all try and help each other out. so hopefully you'll join us when you get to that bridge. ;)

Yep, I've been on this forum for almost 3 years. Joined several clubs, but this one is by far the best/ most helpful one. Yes, hopefully I will join y'all. As long as someone doesn't outbid me at the last minute again lol.

Since we're on the subject - this IS a great forum. To be honest, I've generally steered clear of TalkBass. There's a place called the Last Bass Outpost where most of my online bass buds hang, but this Spector club is BY FAR the best thing I've seen on TB. The SAS pains are brutal though. LOL!

Man if it wasn't holoflash I might take you up on that...errr

For whatever reason I actually prefer the holoflash over the black stain. Holoflash is fairly subdued until you get it under some focused bright light.

I really like my REX 4 Pro and it's also my lightest Spector at 8 lb 15 oz.

However, the "NS" body style seems to fit me better... so the REX is up for sale.

Ya its a cool bass... just not my style... I would be playing it under stage lights mainly and well its not me lol but I loved the Rex5 i played so I will be adding a rex4 this year good luck with the sale, its a killer bass at a killer price!
