Wow. This is looking great!

Thanks Patrick and everyone else who commented. I just had a medical procedure done Wednesday and can't do much, but at least I can play bass.

I'm going to spend the next few days trying to decide if I go Tonepump or US 9 colt circuit. Decisions, decisions...

I'm thinking of splurging on the US 9 volt

The Aguilar pre does a bang up job on the tone department doesn't it! Which OBP? 2 or 3? I really love the OBP3 best! If I could have passive/active with the OBP3 in my new Coda 5 DLX, I would've ordered it that for the pre.

But on in particular I think could be doable...It is in stock and chillin in the back room waiting.

I am pretty sure it is the Aguilar OBP3 pre.

well thank you sir! ive always been a spector lover. i just wanted to see what all the hoopla about the warwicks were and i like some of the tones you get out of them. but i guess the only tones ive figured out i like are thumb basses. so in all fairness, my ears, hands, and heart with spectors baby!!

This USA Bolt on is REALLY well built!!
I would love to have a 2nd USA Bolt on with a different board and different pups for variety sake.
The one I am eyeballing on BC is jaw dropping hot!
Just need the cha ching to make it happen.

I was going to suggest a Rebop since it has a rosewood fingerboard and EMG HZ pickups with the tonepump but you have been spoiled by the build quality of the USA models. That is where you really see the difference between the USA and Euro models I have to say.

I know...just like I loved my former Ian Hill...but theres that 20%+ more that I like about the USA handbuilt that much more that will have me always coming back for another one.

Right now, I am thinking Forte 5X or a USA Rex but that will probably change 800 times before I am ready to buy. Ta return time is when I would be thinking about it so i have plenty of time.

Here in NJ, the weather has just been crazy. One day it will be 90 degrees and the next it might be 40 so it is wreaking havoc on the necks of my Euro's. I have had to adjust them multiple times over the last few weeks but have not had to touch the neck on the NS-5. That thing is just not moving but there was one day where the neck on my Rebop was un-playable. I don't know what they do different with the USA necks but that is huge in my book.

I've been eyeing a jazz/soapbar config spector like your three on the right for a while but haven't found any to try out before I buy. How would you say the tone and neck compare to that nice double soapbar on the left?
I have a REX5 I love (pic below) and am looking to expand my 5 string Spector line up to include a more traditional look and sound as well.

There just hasn't been a lot of publicity with the Spector Cores... About 1 1/2 years ago I was bent on buying one but there just wasn't much on YouTube or anything else to hear what they sound like. Only a couple of pros out there play them. They resale very low..., IMO.

I played one that had a broken jack at a guitar center, once I taped the cable in it at least played. It didn't have much hollowbody sound due to it only having one chamber with a pretty big soundhole. I liked the tone of it with the passive EMG pickup, but the piezo felt tinny, and it seemed like it needed a better EQ. Sounded good with both blended together though. I passed on it because of the broken jack and a number of dings and dents, it didnt feel worth the price in such bad shape.

If it wasn't for me needing the Coda 5 DLX with JJ pups...I've been eye balling the Forte 5 X too. I think that's an awesome Rad looking bass!!!

Yep! There's something in the build between the USA and Euro's that are and make the difference. Even though all the Euro necks are built in Woodstock and shipped to Europe. Same with the weather here in Michigan...goes from 80's to 40's to 60's and my Forte 5 neck is holding strong! Even after 3 blistering hours of recording last night...still in tune! Speaking of...when I plugged into the amp and the sound check started...the sound engineer said my bass was perfect! Great matter of fact! Can't wait to hear the cut cd!

And that has the Fishman EQ doesn't it? I'm not fond of that EQ.

Really???? Do you keep them cased? I haven't needed to touch then neck on my euro or rebop in about a year, and I'm picky. Lol

And that's through over a dozen string changes on my dougie.

I am new to the brand man....so I know a whole lot of not much.
But I do know that the one I picked up is one helluva bass!

well IF I can make myself let something else go, I would want to grab one I am eyeballing at BC.
It is a good enough amount different from the one I just got.

It is sitting there chillin in the US Bolt on section at BC site.
