Yeah, I love SAP. I actually recorded myself playing this song the other night to see how the Rebop would sound direct into GarageBand. Not bad. Althought, my playing could be better. :D

For some reason, Facelift never did much for me back in the day and it was neglected until recently (i got Rhapsody and I can listen to anything online). I'm glad I rediscovered it.

Quick question for ya sumgruuvz. I know you are an AIC fan, was Mike Starr playing a Spector on all his recordings? I was listening and jamming along with some of those Facelift songs last night. It's the only AIC disc I don't have (shame on me) and I'm kind of rediscovering it now. Just curious. Also, who played on Jar of Flies? That record is a masterpiece in my book.

oh yeah man. facelift is monsterous. that is a main staple for aic.

I had the 5-string sold and the dude has completely blown me off. So not cool. I did, however, sell a few of my high end basketball cards on ebay last week and used the money to order a NS4CRFM from Guitar Center. Should be here on Monday. Hope its in as good of condition as the guy I talked to said it was.

I traded the 4-string a couple days ago for a MM Stingray, which, if I don't love will be sold to buy another Spector. ;)

Yeah inez on JOF, he used a Spector and a wick I believe, you can hear the difference. An acoustic on a track too or maybe that was on Dirt. Starr was mostly spectors, but he did a few with a fender jazz as well I believe. Some great tones there.

yeah. i think it was one of your older posts somewhere i read that, grendle. so if im wrong, its your fault. lol. yeah you can hear the difference for sure.

Speaking of TONE...I remember in the last section there were a few talking about the ole Haz that we all know and love. Lima put out an awesome soundcloud file of his new NS 2 in the mix.

I started thinking about what drew me in to Spector all those years ago. Certainly Inez and Starr but it was mostly Eddie and Rachel. Here's two youtube clips that I feel really personify the NS 2 and Haz (for that matter) in the mix. Just lean, mean, f*&king grind. To me, this is what the bass should sound like. Put on some headphones and enjoy:

Man, I loved Queensryche growing up. Those early records were so good. And I kinda forgot Skid Row was pretty good. Listening to that Queensryche now and.... holy cr@p that tone is killer!!!

Yeah, I kinda lucked into it while doing a quick search at work between meetings. You know, forget the water cooler, I'm on the hunt for a Spector neck through. :)

Called that store and the The kid made me feel really good about it as I asked all the questions. Figured with GCs 30 day return policy it was worth a shot. At that price, if I love it, what a score!!!
