Sam told me about that pickup combo and it really intrigued me. I think it was ChrisLoe that tried it out on his NS-4 but I could be mistaken but the consensus was the J pickup was a bit weak sounding so he tried it with a DC at the bridge and was blown away. I have to say, it really has me thinking but I would probably want to hear clips first.

oh you're so lucky to be able to Skype. I like talking on Skype and Google messenger. Without home Internet we have to drive some where that has broadband. Which is only 3 miles to our county airport and it's free Broadband, wireless and Cat5 line.Sam has made comments to me a few times about how I am not a phone person so my solution was to install Skype. It's like a happy medium for me and I don't mind chatting on camera or through IM.
My first ever bass guitar buy. A Spector legend 4 string bass guitar. Sounds better then it looks. And it looks superb. Love the sleek and slippery neck and the shape is beautiful definitely worth the $500 I paid. Any care tips from you guys? May I he added to the club?

bunkaroo said:A little late to the conversation but I tried the 40P5/DC combo in my NS-5XL and liked it much better than the 40P5/40J combo. I've got both DC's back in for the moment since I really need to give that config it's due but I think I will likely go back to the 40P5 for the neck pickup.

I was in the USAF 25 1/2 years. Soldering is second nature for me. Please Feel free to PM me for any soldering needs you may have and don't feel comfortable tackling it yourself. Peace!
