oh man. that totally sucks. yeah i dont know about mf anymore. i had kind of a bad experience with them lately. i ordered a power cord for my m80 and they seemed to forget about me. 2 weeks after i placed my order, i had to call them and ask what was going on. for some reason the shipping method they used the first time couldnt find my address and they returned the item. they didnt email me nothing. so i got them to ship it differently the 2nd time and it got here in 3 days. so i dont think i'll be doing business with them again anytime soon. :spit:

That sucks! That happens to me once in awhile with a certain company too and I'm about ready to order other places.
That Ibanez acoustic bass was so drop dead gorgeous...it literally was shipped in a cardboard guitar box with ZERO packing and it was end to end hitting the box. But they quickly made it right by refunding...still, it was one of a kind. :ninja:

Ah! It's an instrument to be heard by all. I took and played my former Ian Hill last year to a Farmfest that literally was held on an old farm and we played in an old machinery barn, dusty, hot and crowded. It's only material. Expensive? yes. Hard to replace? Very much so...It never left my eye sight for sure. But i wasnt going to sweat it.
Just think of all the big name Spector artist before us that had those gorgeous Brooklyn and Kramer NS-2's...Top of the line Spectors. If they didn't share them by playing them on stage, we'd never have known of these awesome basses. I've seen a couple of Doug Wimbish's basses after years of playing and they look welllll used. I figure why not do the same? Play them out in public and spread the love of Spector! :bassist:

Here is my 2 cents.

Before I owned a Spector with a 9v Haz I kept thinking it cant be that good. ;) When I installed it into my Forte I nearly exploded with excitement. :bassist: :D

So the 9v Haz in my favorite Preamp ever. :bassist:

With that being said. A "Trim" Tonepump running at 18V's is very close.

I am considering putting a Haz in my Euro 4LX just to hear the difference with that wood vs the solid maple wings on my Forte and NS-2. (but its a lot of $ to lay out for a comparison)

Right now after I play my Forte, NS-2 and Euro 4LX back to back to back. I am still liking the tone with the Euro 4LX with the Trim Tonepump at 18V.

On my Euro 4LX, I have the trim set to 30% is a bit more "airy sounding"
The treble boost is at a higher freq range on the Tonepump so the treble boost will give you a higher end brighter boost then the Haz treble boost.

My opinion.

If you decide to buy a Haz put it in one of the NS4CRs and put a Trim Tonepump in your Euro 4LX

All this and I forgot to ask what type of music do you usually play?

I just received five 9v battery clips on eBay for $1.99 shipped, so I'm gonna do a little soldering and try the 18v sound with my 4LX due to hearing your sweet soundclips. Thanks again!

30 years now of typical hard rock bar band stuff, but for the past year I've been playing original heavy metal. I think we sound like a mix of Megadeth, Godsmack & Sabbath - hopefully with a healthy dose our own identy in there as well.

Wow, great comparison. The Haz seems to have a bit more midrange growl than the Tonepump in those clips. Is that the 9v Tonepump or the 18v?

LOL Jeff I use to gig a 1973 Gibson Les Paul... EVERYWHERE... that guitar is worth stupid money these days. Besides how many artists out there simply get their guitars/basses repaired? almost all of them. Now that being said I like gear with tour wear on them, I would never want my gear to look new all the time, but I understand I'm in the minority there.

Eddie van Halen and Brian May toured the world with one of a kind irreplaceable guitars and they were ok ;).

id play it in a gig, but not in a bar. just no way. drunks could give 2 s#$ts less about your stuff and that's a good way to avoid my frustration. i'll share the spector love at a show where people are coherent and alert :)

If I only played in front at church I would take $20k basses every time...but places I have played God wouldn't be 1000 feet next to these places...one place even called Club Hell, haha. Not exactly friendly Christian people with ties on. Drunks that have more than one time bumped up against a guitar stand when the band is in-between sets. Not a pretty sight watching a $5k bass tip over from a hercules stand...but a $500 ns2a not so bad.

?????....First of all these guys are playing mostly on stages like 6 feet up...Some places I have played their is NO stage we play in the same floor level as the audience....These guys have roadies we have ourselves...We are not talking about $2k Fortes we are talking about $5k Ns2's...big difference to me a Forte is a sacrificial lamb same price as a euro.
