Last week I passed my white NS-2A to the Spector Club member who originally introduced me to Spector basses.

Look closely - that bass has 7 knobs. 3 full size regular knobs, & 2 sets of stacked concentric knobs.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this bass has;
1. Master vol. for the EMG pickups.
2. Balance for the EMGs.
3/4. Stacked bass/treble for the EMGs.
5. Master vol. for the bridge piezo pickups.
6. Knob to blend between the EMGs & the piezos.
7/8. Stacked bass/treble for the piezos.
Hmmmm....
Could be. But a master for the EMG's and a master for the piezo's would make a blend between them kind of redundant.
I was excited the other day, when an update to the TB app came out. I figured they would address at least one or two of the problems that makes the app such a pain. None such luck, though.
All the same problems exist, but now it signals me EVERY TIME someone posts to a subscribed thread. Even better, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn this function off. Oh, goody.

I have an affinity for white NS basses, too... so I plan to have this one for a while.
The knobs are definitely original as they are identical to the knobs on my NS-4. They probably are aluminum. This one arrived with the Dunlop dual-design straplocks which I prefer over the original Schaller design.
Good call Phat. Controls 1-4 operate the 18V USA HAZ circuit that is dedicated to the DC pickups just like the standard NS-4/5/6 setup.
The fullsize knob nearest the bridge is the balance knob that sweeps from piezo off/DCs 100% to piezo 100%/DCs 0%. It has a detent in the center. The piezo is quite "hot" and a little goes a long way.
The stacked knobs nearest the bridge/tail of the bass are the active treble/bass dedicated to the piezo.
I opened the control cavity and with two USA 18V circuits carefully packed inside it looks pretty impressive.
The tonal range is huge and I'm going to enjoy finding my favorite settings.
If you look carefully you can see the piezo trim pot screws in the bridge below the B and E strings. The saddles are covering the screws for the other strings.

Oooooh...that is gorgeous!!! Very untypical tuners with 2 on top 3 om bottom.
A couple more months and then I'll be on the hunt for a Brooklyn NS-5.
Yeah to keep myself from pitching my iPhone 4 into the lake, months ago I finally decided to put the TB APP into the trash.
I sent time and time again what problems I was "CONSTANTLY" having to the app administrators and nothing was getting fixed. I can't believe someone(s) would keep an app up and running with less than stellar operation...and not fix or pull it off the market. They told me once that,"Hey it's a free app..." I'd be embarrassed if it was my app!
:scowl: They either don't give a rats patoot or are incompetent in how to fix it. Sounds like its getting worse now. I'd rather just use Safari than put up with that forsaken mess.

To the best of my knowledge there was only 1 5-string prototype Spector built during the Brooklyn period. That bass belongs to PJ Rubal. Serial #1 Spector was built during the Kramer period and belonged to Will Lee from David Letterman's Late Show Band. There were 78 total 5 strings built in the Kramer era.

I have a Stingray too, a nice red sparkle one. Great basses - they sound mean & play nice, but you're right - they aren't Spectors. Mine hasn't been out of its case in almost a year now...
