I also really like the black too! The red inlays look sick on black, I don't think they would look as good with white...

Nice! Although, I found that some churches frown upon bring secular ideas/items into the church.
I was playing at the church in Murfreesboro a few years ago and just as the offering plates were being passed around the preacher asked the musicians to play something. We looked around at each other for a second and I just started playing a groove. That groove just happened to be "For the Love of Money" by the O'Jay's...
...needless to say the preacher hopped up to the mic and cut us off just as we finished the first chorus! LOL! 
The Alex Webster neck profile is an option now on all Euro neck-thru's if I am not mistaken so you wouldn't just be limited to black on the signature model.
As for the USA bolt-on models, they do take a bit to get used to but after playing on the one I just picked up, I really love the bass. I thought it would be similar to my Rebop 5 but the neck does feel a bit different and takes some getting used to but that is to be expected I would think. Even though I have a Euro 5LX, the neck on the NS-5XL is very different but actually more comfortable so all of them do have their differences.
I don't have the Alex Webster bass but I do have the same Pre (EMG BQC) and pickups (EMG DC) in my Euro 5LX if that helps you out at all.
I believe Worldeeter just picked up an Alex Webster signature though so he might be able to record clips if he has the setup to do so.

The AW profile is sooo thin for a fiver, and I really like a thin fast neck! I also really like the quick change battery compartment on the AW sig model. I do not believe this is an option on the regular Euro5XL models!

Even though the neck on my NS-5XL is thicker, I find it much more comfortable than my Euro 5LX. I don't know what they do with these USA necks but they are very comfortable so it must have something to do with the way they sand them down.
The quick change battery compartment is a really cool thing. My bolt-on has that and I have to say, it is very convenient. The NS-5's have a separate battery compartment but there are still 2 screws you have to remove in order to open it up but I can see them implementing that into the newer models. The one drawback I might see is it makes the control cavity a bit smaller so I don't think a 9v Haz will fit into my bolt-on

Currently you can do this with the Doug Wimbish and Ian Hill models (remember the green Doug Wimbish that was on here a month or two ago). So I don't see why PJ wouldn't agree to this, but you have to ask him.
And that's the thing about hand-made guitars. Even though the Czech and USA shops (I don't think of either as "factories" because there's little or no automation at all in either and they're not big buildings full of people and assembly lines), do use CNC machines for the rough routing of the control cavities and the basic rough shape of the necks, the actual contouring of the necks are always done by hand. As is the setting of the frets, etc... So yes, there will be variations even within the same models. The NS-2's neck profile has changed slightly through the years.
Stuart likes his bass necks to be stable and rigid. So his inclination is to make them thicker. And then after a while PJ starts saying, "These are getting thick!" and Stuart starts slimming them down. LOL.

I'm not sure and I'll check on this next week when I'm in NY visiting Stuart at the Workshop, but I think for you to get a USA Bolt-On that has the right sized control cavity for a USA 9v Circuit (Haz), you have to order it that way.
You're right that the battery is in a separate compartment in the bolt-ons and the control cavity is slightly smaller.
The reason my Water Cured Redwood NS-4 is an NS-4 is because it was the last set of wings and they had already been routed for the 18v circuit. They were originally going to go on an NS-5XL but that order fell through.
So PJ told me that if I wanted these wings on a 4-string it'd have to be the NS-4. There's no way you could fit the 9v USA circuit into a cavity that was routed for the 18v circuit.
That's no bueno! I don't know that I have actually ever played a Spector that had a real HAZ in it! ...I should probably get on that!
I've never played a real 9v HAZ (I have the 18v pre in my USA NS4, but are they still called HAZ?), and I don't know whether I should install a 9v HAZ in my CRFM, or save a little longer & just buy a second USA Spector - an NS-2.
