Just got done turning my 2003 ReBop4 into a hot rod! I took out the stock EMG HZ pickups and replaced them with the 35P4 at the neck and the 35CS at the bridge. This is a huge difference in tone and clarity. The 35P4 has that nice reversed-P tone like the configuration of the NS-2 with the traditional split half P pickups. The 35CS has a warm tone that compliments the other pickup.

I used the supplied EMG 25K volume pots and the B157 Pickup Buss, which allowed use of the cables with the connectors for the signal, ground and power. So, there was mininal soldering for the TonePump and output jack connections.

Back to the tone, I do prefer the EMG active pickups (like I have in my Euro5LX - DCs). They really bring out more of the Spector sound, that signature growl and the punch of the ReBop. With the HZs, it did not sound as clear. This is a great upgrade! :)

I need to do this for my Rebop too. I already love the way it sounds, and I know getting active EMGs would just improve it.

Nice. It's nerve-racking but totally addictive. I love this shot. The b&w really shows the grain of the Forte. :bassist:

our show went well last night. unfortunately, the live stream wasnt working right so i apologize if you went to watch and it wasnt working. but on a great note, i got lots of compliments on how my spectors sounded ;) they rocked great. lots of compliments of how the bass was gut punching :) that made me feel good. i hope all who had a show last night had a great show.

Awesome pics! Congrats on your first gig! So what is it that you didn't feel with the pro-neo 115? That looks like a pretty powerful combo there. Maybe mix it with a 210 if there's not enough clarity?

That's awesome Sum! Yeah I was looking for live stream but didn't connect :rollno: Did anyone take pics? I'm really liking this summer with our bass players all getting on with the gigs! :bassist:

So, I was directed here (specifically towards Phatbastard) after posting a thread about my Spector Legend 6. Basically, I think it has unnecessary neck dive. Is this common for the Legend 6's?
Is there anything I can do to fix this without having to resort to a suede or leather 3-4" strap that sticks to one spot on my shoulder?


Oh, and I've been looking into getting a 5 string (Spector of course), and am having the HARDEST time finding a NS2000 ala Dan Briggs of BTBAM:

Does anyone know of anyone else trying to get rid of one that can ship in the states easily?
Would prefer the amberburst orange Dan has but would also like blue. I just don't want red or black cherry as that's what I currently have and I can't find anything. :(

So Donny - love the hell out of this song! :bassist::bassist::bassist: Seriously! Just a great straight up , groove-rock tune from start to finish. Vocals are great, songwriting is awesome, just a perfect rock song. I actually just bought it for myself on iTunes. What did you record with? From bass to console/DAW, what did you use? The tone was great and the mix for this song in particular really is a great example of where to sit a bass line in a powerful up tempo rock song. And just as an aside, who covers the backing vocals live?

I'm not quite sure so I can't point my finger at it. It was probably poorly EQ'd. I didn't have time to mess around with it, no sound check just plugged in and hoped for the best. I literally got this cab a day before the show and didn't even have time to plug my amp into it.
I think what it lacked is more bottom end. I will EQ it on Friday as we'll have time to do so. I am still optimistic that it'll work and I won't have to drag a 410 :D
We have a LOT of gear that we take to the show and the venues are so small that my 810 will crack the walls :bassist:
