You know the neck thing (thickness) is a constant source of conversation. I find that its a personal preference thing from one bassist to another as to if they want a slightly larger neck or smaller.
I measured a couple of Brooklyn NS-2 necks this trip fret-by-fret in three dimensions and when you compare them to my NS-2 or NS-4 they are less than 1/64 and most no more than 1/32 different in thickness down the neck.
Ironically, the fingerboards are ALWAYS exactly the same. 1.63 to 1.64 wide at the nut and 2.36 to 2.38 at the 24th fret.
It really amazed me how little these necks have changed between the 2 Brooklyn models I measured and the 2 current USA models I measured.
So in my mind, when you start talking about 1/32 to 1/64th of an inch in difference... that difference has to be more psychological than anything . For it's very doubtful that your body (mind or your hands) can really feel that small a change.
The one thing that has varied is the shape of the neck. Meaning from a C to a D shape in some cases.
But again, this can make it feel like a neck is thicker or chunky, but in reality, front to back, there's little or no difference.

If only this were a 4 stringer...
Still $499 for a Rebop 5er seems pretty sweet.![]()
That looks like the one BrotherbassJ just picked up. I'm not sure if he got his from GC but if so, that is probably sold. Great price on that bass though so if it's not the one he grabbed, someone should jump on it.
I saw the Mother's Milk tour. I forgot Flea played an NS-2 on that album, and live as well. This video made me LOL.
...i THINK it is an NS-2J... but its hard to see in the video especially with all the stickers.
ya they put on a great show... this was the first show to kick off their tour.Donny,
Way to rock the Rex, dude! Prong still tearing up up after all these years?
So I tweak it a little depending on what bass I'm using for the night.... but with my Fridge and Rex on the GK 1001rbiiHey Worshiprocker,
Do you mind if i ask what you're eq settings are on your GK head? I've been using GK for years but I'm always looking for different tones.
Actually, if anyone else is using GK what are your settings?
Thanks,
Brent

So the guy who bought the MTD off me and said the bank transfer was in process just backed out on me. I know I could leave negative feedback since we closed the sale, but I don't want to be a dick about it. I am going to have to relist and start over though. I was really counting on it being gone. Pretty frustrated right now.
