Anyone here happen to know about Flea's Spector? I know he played Spectors very frequently (almost exclusively) from about 86 to 89. I don't know if it's the same one he recorded Mother's Milk with, but here's a video of him going ham on one.

Someone on here has Flea's NS2J....I have it somewhere....we talked it about because of mine....

Here's my new pic for the new thread.
Apparently this pic blew up on Facebook. Hope you guys like it too.

Thats what I'm talking about!!...NICE!!
:bassist::bassist::bassist:

I've owned more than 15 great 5-string basses, and I always end up selling them and going back to what I was raised with... 4-strings.

Please shoot me a PM if you have an interest in capturing the elusive "White Whale"... a 1995 USA SSD era NS-5P (piezo option) for $1875 PayPal shipped ConUSA lower 48.

This one weighs in at 10 lb 7oz... pretty light for a whale :bassist:

Here's a few teaser pics...

Oooooh, ahhhhh. SSD, piezo option, pearly white. Like they said in that old beer commercial, "boys, it don't get no better than this." I think Mr. Deluca needs to take this off of your hands... :bassist:

I hear your 4 string dilemma. I love 5ers (and have owned a couple) but I'm just more comfortable on a 4 string. Sad but true. GLWTS. I doubt it will last long.

If this were a 4-string, you would already have my PayPal payment! What a killer bass - this one will move fast!

The guy finally came through on the MTD today! Now I can move forward with getting rid of the new "Amazon" Spectors.

I haven't gotten any response on here about the black cherry LX4 for $1100 shipped (w/ 18v EMG BTS 2 band pre-amp, X series pjs, new Spector gigbag, pro set up & strings), so I'm gonna move on to the main TB classifieds board when I get a spare minute or two.

Man, I really wish I could. When I saw that he was thinking about getting rid of it, my eyes lit up. Then, JPS posts his Alex Webster signature model and I really started to panic :)

I am tapped out right now with money so in order for me to get even one of those basses, I would have to sell one that I currently own and after thinking about it, I just can't part with any of them.

The only two that I could have even considered selling would be either the blue Euro 5LX or the red NS-JH5. I technically can still return the NS-JH5 back to Guitar Center since tomorrow I will have it for 30 days but I really like that bass. I hate the OBP-1 in it but once that gets swapped out with an EMG BQC, that bass is just going to slay. As for the blue Euro, I have the exact same electronics as the Alex Webster model and love the way it sounds and feels so I really don't want to part with that either. Plus, I doubt I could get that much for it really so I would still be short several hundred bucks so that one isn't going anywhere.

the Rebop isn't going since I paid hardly anything for it and it is such a great bass. I also upgraded the bridge and added EMG DC pickups as well as a trim tonepump so that bass is just awesome. As for the green NS-5XL, that will never go anywhere so it was not even considered. Sorry for the small novel but now you can see the inner turmoil that goes through my head when these beautiful basses pop up for sale :)

Haha. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who goes through inner turmoil every time a sweet Spector turns up for sale. :spit:

That white SSD 5-string is the ****. Wow - very tough to resist. Thankfully I sold a bass recently and have another that I can move so I'm going after my first choice. One thing seems certain - I will add another Spector to the herd in the next week or two. :)

Deluca, you would seriously tempt me with your blue Euro 5. For some reason I actually like how that looks more than the blue NS-5XL I picked up earlier this year.

Question - does the SSD NS-5 have the same preamp as used today on the NS-5XL? I read somewhere it's an 18-volt - just wasn't sure if it was the 18 volt Haz or not.
