Fortunately, my MTD sold so any thoughts i had about selling it off or returning it because of finances are now resolved. Now I'm just waiting on my white Wimbish neck LX4 and my little Spector habit will be satiated. Now I just need a different, preferably non class D head. But you may want to consider a Forte. They sound fantastic and are about 1/2 the cost of a regular USA.

But I do understand and respect your patience. My dream bass is a USA NS-2 or 4 in white or in dark blue quilt (like the one that used to be at BC... I think superdick has it?? every time he puts the picture of it up I little part of me inside starts screaming at me to sell everything and go get one). But unless I come across one used, I don't think I'll ever get around to getting one, but I'm at peace with that.

yeah smadder i was actually thinking about the forte also. id like the ns-2 in peacock blue, but for about 1/2 the price, the forte with a 9v haz in it would get me the tone im looking for. especially with the clip that husky, lima, and 7th have put up for tone samples. but the question is will i be 100% satisfied that i got the spector of my dreams? probably not and therefore i will be on another quest to get there. so it will be a long journey to the top of the mountain. but then i will say "beavis, i have seen the top of the mountain, and it was good!" lol

The Forte was my "gateway USA" for sure. :)

He actually uses both live. His main bass is his silver-to-black burst Streamer stage I and then he has a cherry burst Spector and a cherry burst Warwick Streamer Stage I that he uses as well. But you almost always see him with the silver-to-black Streamer with EMGs. a d-tuner and unfinished back of the neck.

Sam ran it past PJ and let me know that it was originally an oil finish and the battery box is aftermarket. This one has a pair of EMG 35DC pickups and a Spector USA 18V (Haz) preamp. This one has a lot of honest character, but it's still a sweety.

Is that a Euro bridge? I though the US Bridges were more square....
