Thanks. I'm also thinking about an SVP Pro. I know some of them have hiss issues. That's the pre from the monster 2 Pro IIRC? I'm thinking that pre and my GK MB800 power section might make for a potent lightweight rig.

Ps. Sorry everyone for the amp derail but I there re so many in here with incredible knowledge.

I once gigged Billy Sheehan ampeg pre in to an SVT300(300 watt all tube ampeg power amp... pretty much the power section of a SVT2)

....the SVT300 was not fun to gig with so I started running the ampeg pre in to my GK MB2500 which was nice but I later decided the GK tone was more so what I was looking for at the time.

oh and the Billy Sheehan pre was quiet except when the "distortion" channel was on... in which case it went in to a bees nest lol

I ended up getting the SVP Pro out of the classifieds. Hopefully it's a quiet one. We'll see....

I can't wait for you to hear the Carvin B1500 this weekend.....I hope it rocks your world with your white ns2a.....I am going to use another bass for the first two songs, then the ns2a for the rest of the show

Build quality as with all spectors is top notch. Tone is pretty good, but I'm not a bolt on guy. The neck was a little flat for me ( and a little sharp ) on the ones I played, could use to have the edges rolled. They have a black cherry one at Sam ash here that I have played a lot. Its a nice 5, I gotta have NT though. Their very close to the rebops. Swap out pups and pre if ya want and you have a beast. Good stock as well.

Thanks Grendle. So worth the money? I have $1K coming to me and was looking for a good fiver.I was thinking between the Legend, Warwick Rockbass Fortress or a Schecter Studio. What do you think?

Gabriel51 has a sweet Black Zebop for sale in the classifieds. I have one just like it and you get tons of bang for the buck with this bass. A good deal too.

With $1K and some searching, you could probably score a nice used neck-thru Spector Euro 5. You could spend more for a fiver, but IMHO, nothing else in that price range can even come close to a Euro for tone and playability.
