So does anyone have any recommendations on a replacement nut for an NS-2A? The slot for my A string is a little too deep so the string sits too low. I realize I could just put a little shim in every time I change strings, but I'd rather have a more permanent solution.
I looked through the Spector webpage but didn't see this as a replacement part (it's a 25ish year old bass anyway).
Any help?

a few pages back I believe someone mentioned a guy who makes custom nuts and has the sizes for Spector's through out the years.
I believe Grendle or LimaGuy would be two guys you could hit up and get more info!
No, I don't think so. I dispatched mine to Chicago. Here's a pic. There were a couple of this vintage floating around at the time, if I remember correctly.

I had a blue burst from around that time too. I think it was one of the more popular (and beautiful) finishes they made.

As promised, pics for the new Spector Euro 4LX I just aquired... a beautiful Poplar burl / birds eye high gloss made around 2007ish in mint condition.
This one has what I assume is the non-trim tonepump (singular black rectangular epoxy filled block with no adjust screw and a vol, vol, treb, bass control layout). Sounds fantastic, plays great, has ultra low action and weighs in at 8 pounds.

It is much lighter than any of the other poplar 4 strings I've picked up. Of course you need to take the 8 pounds with a grain of salt since it was on a bathroom scale could be off by as much as a half pound.
And to top it all off, who else but Spector could have made sure there was a "happy face" in the birds eye right at the bass control knob...

Fellow Spector enthusiasts... I am posting here first to let you know that I am selling two of my Spectors. My US made 5 string fretless and my early CRFM 5 string custom finish. Unfortunately, my back can no longer deal with the weight. Lucky for me my NS-2O weighs in at around 9lbs. so it isn't gong anywhere. If you have any interest, send me a PM. Thanks.
This one has a P/DC configuration, but also comes with a DC for the front. Hipshot detuner with extended post, Straplocks, hex keys and HSC included.
This one has an EMG BT circuit, however, I have a Spector 18v circuit for it as well. I had planned to install it, but I ended up liking the BT in this beast. Straplocks, hex keys and HSC included.

Well, if it makes you feel better, my wife just laid down the law on this purchase - from now on it's "one in - one out" on all bass purchases. Looks like I'll be selling a near mint Stingray 5 with a very rare Egyptian Smoke Silver finish to meet her criteria. Of course I picked her favorite bass so she can feel some of the pain.
