Good to hear, man. I'm more of a nickel guy, typically anyway. I also like that the B and E are tapered!

Are there any strings that you can compare them to?

I tend to play with a medium action, myself. Low action tends to fret easier and "play itself."

I came from playing 45-105 on fenders. I have found, in setting up my NS2As is that first, you must find a string that has the right tension for you. After trying many different kinds, I have found I like DR Lo-Rider steels 45-105. If you think they are to stiff, you might want to try Hi Beams, they are more spongey. Once you find a string that has the right tension, you might need to make a truss rod adjustment. There is a lot of info on the web on how to make a truss rod adjustment but on spectors, It can take a while for even a slight adjustment to "settle in". I tend to leave my truss rod cover off for a few days and make a slight tweak every 12 hours or so until I get it right.

This is what I do for NS2As, I don't know if it translates to Euros.

I'm hoping the cause of this is me and the setup and not the bass. I can't seem to dial in either Euro just like I like it. Is it the neck through that's throwing me off? And you might want to just stick with the nickels ;) I tried the Spector steel strings and ripped them off within 5 minutes and went to DR Hi Beams which I liked much better. That was before I tried the Spector nickel ones though so I am going to buy like 3 packs of them and string 3 of my Spectors with them.

I thought it might be "the super secret squirrel brigade" of the Spector club, comprised of specifically tapped secret Spector society members........lol

I swear I've never heard of them......except behind closed doors or whispered only when a strong wind is blowing....

All the way down to G#? Working on some between the buried and me are we? :bassist:

I'm actually planning to do something similar- once I get my old modulus sold, I'm looking at picking up another Spector 5 banger and setting one up to be tuned down a step. That way I could go ACGCF for drop C stuff, or drop the whole thing down a half step for when I want to learn some between the buried and me stuff and just to mess around with. Then I'll sell off my fretless and have my stable down to just 3 spectors and an upright :bassist:
