Dude, you're gonna love that bass. I played a 4 string just like that at Atlanta Bass Gallery a few months a go and I was blown away! I compared it to a Sadowsky and a Fender custom shop (all 3 at the same price point) the spector was the best. When I first saw that Mr. Spector was building jazz basses, I rolled my eyes and thought "great, another jazz bass copy, Mr. Spector should just keep building NS basses...". But these are truly special instruments. I'm happy you're getting one.

Lucky, I played bass for over 20 years before owning a spector.

I have a Euro 5LX and a souped up Ibanez and I love them both for different reasons.
Talk about different neck profiles! (If there's anybody that doesn't know, Spector Euro 5 necks are thick and chunky, versus Ibanez necks which are about the thinnest in the business)

I find I play them differently. On the Spector I lay my thumb parallel to the neck so my whole left hand is more closed but on the Ibby my thumb stands out perpendicular to the neck and my hand spreads out like a spider. Anybody else have this experience? Which works better for you? Which is healthier for the hands?

Actually, I am in the process of review...The ones I like I keep, the ones that don't get played get sold...that way I don't have to manage a 'herd'

I'll definitely agree with your statement on the Ibanez's, Those necks are thin and very fast, Even their 5's. Just never been a huge fan on their sound though. The only exception is the BTB 705 DX that my friend has here equipped with EMG's. Very unique warm sound to it.

I know with my Warwick having a thicker neck I have to move my thumb down and cover the fret board more, or my knuckles start feeling bad, especially if I play with my thumb higher. I have small hands so a thicker bass just isn't comfortable. I always have to warm up with exercises to play on a thicker neck. On the skinnier ones (jazz, wimbish, ibanez) I can pick it up and roll.

Good to hear and thank you! I thought the similar at first, but being that I am a J bass guy, I'm really stoked to get this one.

You know, being a Spector owner really is about more than just the gear. Yes, the product is top notch and is THE reason that we got into Spector. I bought a CRFM 5 because it was a good deal and looked killer but found that neck thru and EMG's weren't really my bag. However, I was so impressed with the build quality of that bass that I was hoping to try a 5 string bolt on in the future that would be a keeper. Anyway, because of this TB club it seems that being a Spector owner kind of puts you into this other culture of bass players, kind of like a brotherhood. I've got to say, that adds a lot to owning a Spector for me. To know that the guy building them and the guys playing them are world class people just means a lot to me.

Dude. Amen. I still think they should list this club as one of the things you get with a Spector. These are some really wonderful people hanging around here.

I won't comment on "HIS" thread but I think this dude waited to long....A few years back I bought a 74 Jazz from ebay and didn't get it inspected for 2 weeks, shame on me. I brought it to Nolls and found out the truss rod was no good. Instead of getting it fixed or fighting it (which I should) I reposted it on ebay listing the problem and lost $700 in the exchange. The seller had a 10 day return policy, my luck go figure....I think this guy just decided he didn't want the bass and made a phony claim. If you see something wrong contact immediately and DON"T get it fixed on your own....just my .2 cents. I feel bad for Christian. :atoz:

I am in cleaning mode also, my Thumb BO just sold:hyper: and I have a blue bass whammy that is sitting on the board not being used (since I don't do Tool covers anymore). The extra 400+ is going to leave soon also. You can't take my Sansamp BDDI, I love that for final tone shaping and being able to save settings.

Wow, that is the original Bass Whammy pedal. I love the RBI but I just don't use it much at my house so I was just thinking of getting a B3k at some point down the line and that should get me what I need.

I need a cell also and don't wanna renew my contract with Sprint.....I wanna spectorcover for my cell
