I have heard stories of the BK3 and would like to eventually check it out. I have mostly old pedals that I bought in the 80's and early 90's. Russian muffs and Morley fuzz and power wah and some Colorsound fuzz's and tone benders. Some analogman pedals, love those. The only guitar amp I owned and still have is a Jazz Chorus 120 that I bought in a pawn shop in 1987 for 100 bucks that was my first bass amp lol.

I just remembered that I posted this a long time ago. Seeing as there are a lot of Spector-hunters around here, I thought I'd post it here.
My first ever, brand new, ordered from Kramer NS-2 was stolen from me years ago.....I would love to reconnect with it, but after watching the local stores, pawn shops and ebay over the years, I've never come across it....maybe you guys can help:

Okay...I NEED the Forte to sell, so, I'll consider a Spector trade plus cash from you for my Forte 5. There's an amount of cash that I need for two car repairs.

That's a huge +1! Spector owners seem more mellow also. :cool:

Talk about different neck profiles! (If there's anybody that doesn't know, Spector Euro 5 necks are thick and chunky, versus Ibanez necks which are about the thinnest in the business)

I find I play them differently. On the Spector I lay my thumb parallel to the neck so my whole left hand is more closed but on the Ibby my thumb stands out perpendicular to the neck and my hand spreads out like a spider. Anybody else have this experience? Which works better for you? Which is healthier for the hands?

With my Forte 5, the neck is as thin if not thinner front/back than my former Ian Hill. This is a great Jazz V neck! My thumb slides on almost it's tip in the neck center and my fingers stretch out like a spider. A super comfortable neck! The thinnest neck I've played on a 5r!

The funny thing is that quite a few of those trees came down not too long after I took that picture. Now it would just be a Spector sitting in front of an enormous pile of firewood.

A few years ago I tried 5 string with a White Rebop 5. What a sweet bass that was. The tone was one of the best I've heard. Couldn't grasp that extra string and I regrettably sold it.
Now I can play and prefer 5 strings. I've had one Spector since, an older Legend with the MM/J pickups and 3-band, one stacked knob, TP jr.
So I recently caught a sweet deal for $260 on eBay.

It's a 2010 Legend 5 Classic with 2-band TP Jr. Apparently the Blue Quilt is discontinued. I just tweaked the trussrod and the intonation on all 5 strings fell right into place. Perfect. No sharp frets, nice neck, not as bulky as the MM/J Legend from 6 months ago. The tone and playability is as close to my White Rebop as I've heard from any other bass I've had in the last few yrs. I like it better than the Millys or 55-02 I've recently sold.
I think I have a club number, but have since forgotten it.

Anyway, I'm happy to be a proud owner of another Spector and it's my main player again. Never thought I'd get that tone back, especially from the Legend, but the Korean Factory must've stepped-up it's quality quite a bit. And I prefer the 2 band over the 3 band. The EMG-SSD's are surprisingly GOOD so they will stay in the bass with no mods.

Let me just say that the sound of the Ebony Fretboard is STUPID Sick!!!....The Woodstock I had with the Pau Ferro couldn't last 2 Rounds with the Kramers.....Let just say this has the high end that only my old Modulus Flea (carbine fiber neck)could get and the Growl of the Kramer Spector's combined....NUTS!!!..pics coming!
