Yes they will be around but the definition of the notes are not clear like other amps, Genz, Aguilar, Thunderfunk,..etc. But if you make mistakes they can be your best friend for they hide your inequities as others will unmask them. My guitarist who I think has the best ears I know said with the 800rb it was hard to distinguish between an A and B note but when I got the amp after the 800rb which I think was the db750 he said if I was off a half step (A to B flat for instance) it pounded him in the face with discuss....

The NS-4 moves air like no other Spector, and is an exceptional bass for playing live & loud. Any & all doubts will be laid to rest he first time you hear it at rehearsal with some serious volume behind it.

New to me, this beautiful and amazing ReBop 4 Tobacco Sunburst front /back, from a trade + cash for my lovely Forte 5, from a Spector club member whom I shall not name until he reveals his new Forte 5. Me and my wife drove to Grand Rapids, Mi. which is almost a 4 hour drive one way but a little further for the buyer. But what a joy and a great time we had having lunch and swapping bass stories! It's always great to meet a fellow Spector club member! And what a great way to make sure you don't get damaged basses during shipping!

I guess that would be me...

When I saw Mike list this for 'trade plus cash, Spectors preferred', I figured it was time to put in my offer - and he accepted it!

It was my pleasure to meet Mike and his wife for lunch and 'do the deal' yesterday (sorry it took us so long to get there, Mike - thanks for being patient!).

I've only had about 30min time this morning with the bass so far, but I can already tell I'm pleased with the OBP-3 and the tonal variations I can get out of it. Sweet, sweet, sweet - *this* is more of what I was looking for.

Add to that the solid B, which is stronger than the last 5er I had (Carvin LB75), the solid maple flame body, brass nut, pau ferro fb, overall great build quality, etc, etc, etc... and I announced to the wife...'yep...this one's a keeper'. To which she replied...'yeah...it's got really nice tone'. The only other bass of mine she reserves comments like that for is my '84 Musician.

So I'm stealing one of Mike's pics for now until I get the camera out and get a couple of my own...but I now own a USA Spector! Putting in my bid now for 'Spector Deal of The Year'

Mike, I hope the 'Bop serves you well until the Coda5 arrives! Didn't have it long...but I didn't realize it was going to be my bridge to this one! If you decide to find another home for it after the Coda arrives, let me know - it will be welcomed back w/ open arms

I've started our second already.
It shouldn't take as long as our first to come out.

Sorry if this has been addressed before. When adjusting the trim on a Tone Pump, does it only effect volume? Or do you feel it effects the tone as well. I thought i would ask before lower my output because I like the tone it's putting out. I would just like to match the output to my Legend with the MM114 pre.

I'm looking into different brands and sizes for my Coda. Generally, I run .45-.105 plus whatever B comes with it. I have found that I generally like a .125 or .128 B string quite a bit more than a .130 or greater. I'm interested in balanced tension though so I've considered going with a lighter gauge set on the E-G so that the B can be smaller.

I know Jaymi has mentioned using 35-90?

I'm interested in balanced tension though so I've considered going with a lighter gauge set on the E-G so that the B can be smaller.

It does affect the tone... it is more a gain knob than a volume knob (does that make sense?) I am fond of the tone anywhere between 30-60%.... drop it to 30% and you should get close to the mm114 output.

Do BSO sell Thomastics?

IIRC, Thomastic Jazz Rounds(and flats) are balanced tension(last set I had felt that way, certainly), but the really light gauges might not suit you.

Daddario have a tension chart for their strings, that you could work out what you need, and I'm sure he could order you the singles you'd need.

35-95 radically opens up your tone...You might need to get used to the gauge but once you do, they are KILLER
