SPECTOR® Club - Part 46

Question for the experts: In general, How do the MIK Spectors play & feel against their US (or other) counterparts? I only ask because I came across a Series-X that was pretty darn cheap, but it's in another state, & I wouldn't get to hold it in my grubby little paws before purchasing it. Thoughts or advice appreciated!!! :bassist:

The X models are a completely different beast all together.
I'll say I like their necks and they sound good. But it's an "X" body-style and that's not my thing.

The MIK Legend Series basses have the same body shape/style as their much more expensive USA Bolt-on siblings. In all I love the neck profile of the MIK models all the way around. One of the best necks I've ever played was on a Rex-4.

They're made well, they play well and they sound good. They're Spectors... :D

And all the basses for the show are sitting right here... Man. There's some really sweet looking USA models here...

A spoiler!!! Mr. Quintin Berry, who will be performing at BPL! has a new custom model to do his clinic and performances with. And I can't share any photos yet. But the color is my new favorite Spector bass color. It's so wicked and cool!

More to come tomorrow after setup!

Looking forward to seeing any of you who plan on dropping by.

that's kind of why I like IV. I've enjoyed each of the albums, but with IV - Part 1, I'm looking forward to the entire series. I think Phil's sounding pretty decent, and Pepper and Kirk are really going after it.

The conversation makes me want to snag the KDH album, though.

Amos, I know how the job thing can suck the life out of your playing bass. I've been there multiple times myself. Weeks would go by and all I would have time to do is pick up the bass and blow the dust off of it. But everything goes in cycles and you'll be back to playing heavy s*#t before you know it. Hang in there and don't feel irrelevant.

We all here never think of any Spector bass as insignificant and especially what anyone of our brothers/sisters have to say as insignificant. :ninja: I started with a legend 4, I thought that bass was just awesome and still do! I've thought about buying it back! That first Spector is "The" special one. I regret selling the Legend, Ian Hill sig., NS-95, and Forte 5. But I'm not made out of $$$ as most here are not either, so something has to sell in order to get that next special Spector. When I hear a certain song played on the radio, I remember playing it with one of my previous Spector and I get that,"Man I miss that bass"!
I really didn't want to sell my Forte 5...it hurt. It took 3 years of saving, flipping basses and selling rigs to get it. I'm thankful for having it and being able to play an instrument of such beauty and master craftsmanship. There'll be others. Just hang in there/here and enjoy the ride. Your days are coming before you know it! :) :bassist:

Moving is tough on you not only physically but financially. I know, I've moved 36 times in my 54 years. (Yeah, yeah I'm an old geezer...lol :D )
And it takes a couple years to recoup the expenses from the move.

We enjoy everyone here and miss you when you're not here!

thanks mike! i know i wish when i went to the toilet i would bring out $100 bills, but we all know thats dream land. lol. one of these days it will come back. i just have that mike starr, eddie jackson, rex brown tone in my head and know what i need. just no dinero :(
