This morning I bought my first Spector.
A Rebop 5 modded with Bartolini pups and an Aguilar OBP-3 pre. Can't wait to play it.
I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Not too sure what I should do right now, I'd like another dual pickup bass, but Id like to get the maple FB and black inlays if possible. The regular DLX 5 with a maple board will be a $200 up charge, or I could go with the MM rebop 5 that comes stock with the Maple board and add another MM pickup for $200. Definitely gonna be placing my order, I've had my Euro 5 for a while now and know my money's gonna be well spent, just wanna get the options that I want so I don't end up trading it for a different Color, etc down the line.
On another note, anyone have any pics of nice yellow spectors? A nice yellow is about the only thing that could away me away from the green I'm looking at right now.

I've tried picks off/on the last 4 years. One time I had a guitard tell me "to stay with finger playing...leave the picking for guitards"! Blew me out of the water! My heart sunk...and I was speechless. I was never a guitar player so picking feels very foreign. Do you guys prefer soft, med. or hard picks? Or does it depend on the song you're playing and use various sized picks?
So did you decide to go with GK?
When I'm in Columbus, Ohio for a couple of weeks in Dec. I'm going to take my bass into Sam Ash and GC to try different rigs. That's really the best way to find the sound that you're looking for, IMHO/FWIW.
yes i did that when i test drove out the 1001rb and neo 4x10 in wichita this last year. all i can say is GOD

I'm still fighting with getting the mb500 or mb800... I might be leaning towards the mb500 in order to push it harder. We will see. Lee what do you think?

Suddenly, thanks to the Hurricane and now the Nor'easter (it is actually snowing hard on the Jersey Shore) I am one day closer to selling the Spector.
I highly recommend trying the MB500 Fusion! I had one and it was FANTASTIC!!! They've got a nice GK grind but has the warmth of 3 tubes when needed...all in a nice 5 lb package!!!
I regret selling mine so I'm actually going to look into the MB800 Fusion when they are released!
Donny's anti-tube. Lol. For the price, the 800 has got 300 more watts at the same price. That's what sold me. I'm going to get an 8 ohm cab which will have 500 watts going to it. Then later down the road if I need another one, . I can add on another 8 ohm'er. Not omer, ohm'er. Lol

ya I'm fairly anti tube... not 100% lol if I went tube it would be an Ampeg SVT classic
I'm just wondering if the 500/800 amps are like the 700rb/1001rb amps... We play loud but and I like to really drive my amp, but I don't get to that often with my 700watt 1001rb. Maybe I'll get one of each.... I think Lee has had both. I know both are awesome, I just have to pay for this little pedal board first.
its going to be pretty darn cool.Probably next year I'll be moving to a 2 stack rig (one for each side of the stage) so I'll be running 2 amps.... maybe.. I have some ideas on that too

Get the mb800. I think that is what Lee would say. more power and it has a drive option to get your grind. I always opt for power.....lol
Donnie - have you had a chance to try out an Orange AD 200B?
Its 100 watts less than an SVT, so you can really push it for the grindy tones while still maintaining a reasonable stage volume. I'm a solid-state guy as well, but the Orange is one amp that could change my mind....
