Get the mb800. I think that is what Lee would say. more power and it has a drive option to get your grind. I always opt for power.....lol

Donnie - have you had a chance to try out an Orange AD 200B?
Its 100 watts less than an SVT, so you can really push it for the grindy tones while still maintaining a reasonable stage volume. I'm a solid-state guy as well, but the Orange is one amp that could change my mind....
nope I haven't.... I'm a solid state guy. I don't need to push the tubes for grind. My TP settings get me what I need. I think it might be too much with a tube head. But I will be on the lookout to try one now
In the guitar world I have always been underwhelmed with Orange. In the bass world I just never see them around. I am a GK player... I love their tone, reliability and price point.

and getting maybe one of the little amps, one of the GK's or the Aguilar with maybe a little 1-12. I would like it to be something I can travel easily with, and also use with the band next summer when I am healed and done with this crap once and for all
