The Gotoh H models are nice. They're sealed. The key shape is a little different, but Stuart has used them before on a few Spectors.

Holy crap Brad!!! That's the lowest price I've ever seen on a Euro. I wonder if there's anything wrong with it. After my "rescue puppy" Czech SSD, I'm very, very cautious with the Craigs List stuff. But for that price alone, you could buy that and USA 9v for it and still be under $1000 for what is essentially a European NS-2. Tremendous deal.

I agree that it's hit or miss on Craigslist! I am looking for a Spector to trick out (i.e. custom refin, whammy bar, OBP-3, the new EMG Victor Wooten PJ set, etc) but I am broke at the moment and doing student teaching in the spring so paychecks will be non-existent until May

I would be willing to check it out if anyone is seriously interested in it! Brentwood is just a few miles from where I live and work!

Yes. And no. Not a bad deal for $350. These are pretty rare. This is the first one I've seen up for sale in over a year and a half.

Leave it all passive. It's got some low-end thump. And the beveled body style is pretty cool.

Yes... that neck plate caused a bunch of trouble...

This is one of those shady things that Kramer did that caused a bunch of issues and was one of the things that led to their downfall.

That bass was made in Korea. But the parts were shipped to the Kramer factory in Neptune where the neck was bolted onto the body and that "Kramer USA" neckplate was slapped on it.

That was one of those misleading things that allowed them to put guitars together in Neptune and do the whole "USA" thing. But they were assembled in the USA and not MADE IN THE USA. Big difference.

Imagine how angry some people where when they found out the guitar they just paid good money for wasn't really made in the USA...

This is a cool bass because you'll have that fun little piece of history with it.

I have to agree mike, that bass has a finish very similar to Carlton's new NS5

Thundar has a couple of these... He likes them, and I think that it would be a cool addition, but probably wouldn't ever be a "go to" for me.

Been out of the loop and of the forum a bit. Lot of family stuff. But anyway I saw this post and I just had to add my 2 cents. I have played bass off and on for about 24 years. I always remember hearing my first Spector at an upscale guitar shop, I was hooked. But as a young kid, the price at the time was well out of reach and unrealistic for a kid just playing with some friends at parties. Anyway, fast forward to last year. I had an on duty career ending injury. Needed to do something between treatments, therapies and surgeries. So I picked up the bass again. Found a fellow TBr selling his ReBop4. At the right time and a couple towns over, perfect. From the second I plugged it in, it was just delicious. I couldn't get enough. So I wanted my next one to be a USA x body. Didn't know if it would be an NS2 or a Forte. But plan on ordering it in the spring (tax return). Anyway, I saw a legend for sale on E-bay. It was upgraded to EMGX PJ set up with a BQC preamp. I put in a very low bid and ended up winning it. When it arrived, I was blown away at the construction, curves body and similar bridge setup to my Euro ReBop. Then the EMGX with the BQC can dial on just about any tone. The neck is thinner and faster, but does not sustain as well. To make this long story short, I honestly don't think you can buy a bad Spector, unless someone previous to you abused it and destroyed it, but any new or new used(especially if you buy from the guys on this site) i don't think you can ever go wrong. They are just incredible instruments to fit all styles of playing and sound. I will say loud and proud, I have a Legend and a ReBop. Both will have a wonderful home for years to come.

You have two beautiful basses! The ZeBops are one of my fav woods for Spector bass bodies. The cross in the center of your ZeBop, is that a sticker? If so, where can I get one like that? I like that! As I play in two Christian bands, I'd love to have one. Thank you!

Hi Spector crowd. I am interested in buying a spector bass and would love to hear your recommendations. Here is what i am looking for:

- 4 Strings
- that reverse PJ combination
- the curved body
- neck through would be nice

I am looking for a good value for money rating. As much as i would love to, i cannot afford a NS-2. I live in germany if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

In terms of finish i am quite open. I love browsing this thread because most if not all spectors really look amazing. The one i like best is the flat black seethrough one.

Sounds like a Spector Euro LX would suit you nicely.
It has the same EMG P/J pickups as the USA basses, neck-thru construction, and the Tonepump preamp sounds very close to the USA models. It comes in your flat black finish, and can be had for less than 1/2 the cost of a USA NS-2. I own both USA and Euro Spectors, and the Euro more than holds its own when compared to the USA models. IMHO, the Spector Euro offers more value for the money than any other bass available, regardless of cost or brand.

Agreed, my ReBop is still my main bass! And, they come cheap used! GC has one right now for under $500...and it's a Invalid Link Removed.

They are addictive. I had played the same two basses for 15 years (which means I hadn't bought a bass in 15 years). I bought my first spector a year ago. Now I have 3. I check the classifieds every day looking for more (even though I don't have any money) I see that pattern over and over in this group.

Once you buy one Spector, you want to buy all the Spectors.

One doesn't "find" Spectors, they find you!

I would love to keep all the Spectors that I have bought in the past 4 years...but unfortunately I need to move Spectors in order to buy another one. If I lived close to a guitar store like Bass Central or Guitar Store of Tulsa I could try them before buying one and maybe not go thru so many basses.

Come-on... as many Spectors as you've turned over the last several months? You never keep one for more than a couple of months and any time you can get one and turn it for a profit; you're all over it.

There's nothing wrong with that. But you should stop playing coy. That's what gets people offended.

You have a very distinct and predictable pattern so the "who me?" thing only insults people's intelligence.

Just keeping it real. I'm a very nice guy but don't mistake that for stupidity. And shame on you if you think you can play me.

And no. I don't endorse your used bass business. Yours or Smadders. You guys want to get basses in trade and sell them for a profit... great. But understand that if those sales go south or there's a problem with the bass you've just sold, nice comments and "hey buddy, buddy" isn't going to get me to lift a finger to help you.

And please don't pretend that because we talk or I did a video with you that I'm OK with your used bass business. I'm fine with it so long as you don't try to take advantage of the trust and fellowship that's been built on this board.

For the record I do not endorse or support what you do as a private party regarding the trading, buying or selling of basses.

So please do not associate me with your shenanigans.

If you were wondering why there's a bunch of people on this board that are wary of you; this is why.

Everyone here already sees that you're going to trade something that's worth less than what you're getting and you're going to sell or trade what you get for more than you have in it.

Horse trading, wheeling/dealing, there's a lot of things you can use to describe it. And again, there's nothing wrong with it so long as you're up front about it.

Let's stop playing the games and just be out in the open about it. That way everyone is on the same page.

You're an opportunistic predator. And hey, most really good salesmen are. But there are a lot of people here on this board that look to one another for fairness and trust. Which is why I think you're going to find fewer and fewer people here that are willing to entertain your not-so-upfront sales techniques.

Just keeping it real. I've worked really hard, as have many others... to cultivate a sense of fellowship and brotherhood on this board. And people who would take advantage of that trust for their own personal gain disgust me.

And I'm not going to just keep quiet about it.
