ha. i hear you. i was 18 when burn my eyes came out.

Got ya by 2 years. :)

I do recall Burn My Eyes was being described as the heaviest thing since Slayer or something along those lines. Roadrunner hype machine was in full force on that record. I liked it a lot, but to me, Sepultura's Arise was the first record to make me think "Slayer who?".

^ did everyone have hair like that in the 80's? :hiding:

Yes, or worse - some of us even had "The Prince Valiant Doo"....:hiding:

My Coda 5 Deluxe arrived 3 hours ago but I had to be snapped back into realty and take some quick photos. The Coda's real color is not captured by the camera. It has a pearl luminescent copper green hue to it in the light that the camera doesn't catch, except a tiny bit on the lower horn at the tip on 1 picture. It's an overcast and spitting snow day. The strings are set super low to the neck, the neck's thickness front to back is super thin! much like my former Forte 5 or even thinner, I'll take neck measurements when I go put the GHS Precision Flats custom's on and send the measurements to Patrick. Very fast neck! It's an oiled neck. :D This Coda 5 Deluxe definitely says "High Quality" big time!!! :bassist::hyper::D Enjoy the photos!

Ice, Congrats on the new Coda 5 Deluxe :hyper:

I am not sure if someone posted this here yet but look what arrived at Basscentral.

The brother bass to my NS-2#800 it's NS-4#801

I didn't know that record as well but I actually happened to see them live on the Oppressing the Masses tour and I listened to that record a lot. What an unusual vocalist.

That is why I liked them so much back then. Sean Killian's vocals were so different that they made them stand out as so much different than all the other bands. I was glad I got to see them at L'Amour the one time but I can't remember what year it was. It was all a haze back then :)

When Phil Demmel joined Machine Head, I went nuts since I was always a fan of his back from Vio-Lence and his input really helped on The Blackening.

For some reason I have just not absorbed the later Machine Head records yet. I know they've been doing some good stuff since Through the Ashes... - I just need to put these on repeat a few times.

Oh, and every time I see the title The Blackening, I think of....
